Ossuccio:
Ossuccio, located on the north-west coast, is approximately 20 km from Como and 8 km from Menaggio. Comancina Island is the only island in the lake. The famous bell tower of Ossuccio may be found on many postcards. There are many opportunities from Ossuccio to go for walks in the higher regions, visit churches, and pass through olive gardens. Water excursions, a visit to the island, the flower gardens, like Balbianello, Tremezzo and Melzi, and farmers’ markets in Como, are only a few of the destinations which are waiting for you. Even a trip to St. Moritz in the Alps, or Venice and Verona are not too far.
Area:
The natural landscape of the area offers lakes for watersports/swimming and majestic mountains for trekking/mountain biking and the views are xpectacular! A day on the beach or a day in the city (Como or even Milan), visit part of the picturesque and romantic areas of Santa Maria Rezzonico, Menaggio, Porlezza (Lake Lugano 12 km), Varenna (15 min by boat), Bellaggio (8 min by boat), Lenno, Laglio (where George Clooney lives). On the west coast of the lake, where Tremezzo is situated, is very well known for its villas which you can visit. The most important one is in Tremezzo, it is called Villa Carlotto, built in 1750, now converted to a museum with fantastic botanic gardens. You have a different trip every day; next to relax in and around the apartment. Shopping is very good in Como or even in Menaggio, of course Como is a bigger city and offers more shops, but Menaggio is very pretty and has a great atmosphere as well. Lake of Como:
The Lake of Como is among the Alps-seas.With a length of 55 km and a low of 410 m is the lake belongs to the deepest in Europe. A luxuriant vegetation prevails on the basis of the mild climate here.The lake splits in the middle of a reverse Y, at whose both ends the biggest cities Lecco and Como lie. This area is not only known for its fabulous landscape around the Lake Como, but also for its industries, especially for the silk industry, which covers large parts of the global production.
