Stellenbosch is a town in the Western Cape province of South Africa, situated about 50 kilometres (30 miles) east of Cape Town, along the banks of the Eerste Rivier. The Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek valleys form the Cape Winelands. Surrounded by some of the Cape’s top hotels and restaurants and directly opposite the beautiful Stellenbosch botanic gardens, close to the famous Danie Craven sports centre and with easy access to mountain walks and climbs, the property could not be better placed. Stellenbosch has direct access to the Boland and Swartland. Towns like Paarl, Franshoek, Wellington, and Sommerset West, and the beaches of the Strand and Gordon’s Bay, and Cape Town - that are a must, for any visitor to the Cape, are all a a short drive away. Notes: This ground floor property is all on one level. From the spacious lounge /dining room, sliding doors lead out to the patio. The patio forms part of the walled garden, which is enveloped in sunshine for most of the day. The garden is ideal for a tradional BBQ (referred to as a braai – in South Africa) or some sun bathing or simply where you can relax after a heavy day of sightseeing. A gold touch Weber braai is provided. From the garden, you have a view of the magnificent Jonkers Hoek Mountain, which is popular with the locals for walks and rambling. You also have a direct view over to the Stellenbosch botanic gardens – a place of immense interest and welcome oasis, in the heat of the day. The resident café offers reasonable traditional food and refreshments. There is a wash line at the rear of the building and the property has private undercover parking, with direct access to the apartment. The building has remote gate entry control and there is additional private parking for guests.

Pool Information: There is an Olympic size out-door swimming pool available at the Danie Craven Sports Centre - just five minutes walk from the apartment. The centre also has full gym facilities and the Stellenbosch University Sport Performance Institute (SUSPI) has a wide range of world-class sporting facilities at its disposal. There are special offers available for visitors.

Fishing: Fishing villages like Paternoster - one of the last traditional fishing villages on the West Coast... most certainly the most romantic and peaceful place on this scenic and wonderful coastline - a must for the crayfish lover, is easily accessible from Stellenbosch. The mountain rivers and dams around Stellenbosch, and the Boland, offer the piscator some fine trout and black bass fishing. Likewise, the Cape waters are well known for sea fishing.

Rooi Els: Rooiels is a small seaside village, famous for its magnificent views over False Bay. Rooiels forms part of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, the first and only Biosphere in South Africa to be proclaimed by United Nations' Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). Situated along Clarence Drive Route, reputed as the finest marine drive in the world, Rooiels is the first village to be explored along the stretch of coastline through to Pringle Bay, Betty's Bay and Kleinmond. These four towns are commonly known as the Hangklip - Kleinmond area. Rooiels is a favourite angling and shellfish diving spot, with a rich variety of seaplants along its coast. Please note a permit is required for the harvesting of ANY marine species. The unpolluted beach of Rooiels offers safe swimming to all family members. The Cape clawless otter occasionally comes ashore to drink and wash their fur.
