Location
Le Cannet is located just 2 kilometers away from sandy beaches and peaceful harbours, in the heart of seven gently sloping hills. A perfect base for easy and pleasant walks through a typical mediterranean environment with pine-trees, olive-trees, mimosas, orange-trees and eucalyptus.
Culture and Folklore
The Orange Tree 'Bigaradier':
Traditionally cultivated in Le Cannet, his flowers allow the manufacture of delicate perfumes, while his fruits are used to produce an excellent marmalade and a delicious orange wine.
The Olive Tree
Fruit of this typical Mediterranean tree gives a balmy olive oil, and is also used to produce the 'tapenade', a smooth and thick paste really appreciated in the south of France to go with aperitifs.

In Le Cannet, the local heritage is part and parcel of the scenery. For some time, tourists' tastes have changed : they are no longer looking for crowded beaches and easy pleasures. They want to experience the genuine local life and discover the historic sites of the area in order to get a taste of the local folklore. Above all, Le Cannet is a joy to explore on foot because to its very rich heritage.
The tour begins in the heart of the city, with a visit to the Town Hall.
On the left of the Town Hall you can enjoy the Sainte Philomene church.
Then, you will cross the avenue to reach Tivoli Gardens. On your way to the gardens, cast a glance at Cavasse Street.
From the gardens, you will reach l’Espace Bonnard near the corner of 'Jean-Jasques-Sardou' street and 'des Oliviers' street. Pierre Bonnard, a famous painter who lived in Le Cannet from 1939 to 1946, is buried in the 'Notre-Dame des Anges' graveyard.
To enter the old town, go back to Leclerc Square.

A charming village with lot of Glassworks. See the biggest on Chemin des Combes.

Marineland : Sharks, dolphins, orcs, Medusas etc…(Direction of the sea).
CAGNES.
Renoir’s house and art studio with a nice olive plantation. The old village, and the castle.
SAINT-PAUL DE VENCE.
A typically provençal village, that is home for many artists. Do not miss the Maeght Fondation.
NICE :
Is a beautiful and quiet big city. Visit the old town. Lot of museums.
