The garden at Casa Santa Catarina is landscaped and consists of both mature and newly planted specimens. A lawned area is encased by colourful shrubs and a wall of natural stone.
The large swimming pool, measuring 12.5m X 5.5m is heated by solar panels and includes an integrated shallow end for children's use. The pool depths range from 60cm in the children's area to 1.30m in the shallow end and 1.90cm at it's deepest. Ample terracing with sun umbrellas and twelve sun loungers supplied. External barbecue.
There is an external dining area adjoining the lounge with tables and seating for 12 guests, complimented by external settees on which to relax. Off street parking provided.
The roof terrace provides an additional dining area with views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Algarve:
The Algarve averages 3000 hours of sunshine each year, more than the Costa Brava, Majorca and the French Riveria. The province is located in the far south of Portugal bordered by the Atlantic on two sides and by mountains to the east. It stretches from the Spanish border west towards Cape St Vincent. One hundred and fifty miles of Portugal's coast is formed by cliffs, overlooking numerous golden sandy beaches. Places to visit include the mountains of Monchique, Silves Castle and the capital of Portugal, Lisbon with it's many historical buildings.
Casa Santa Catarina:
Casa Santa Catarina has evolved over time. In 2008 it was completely demolished and rebuilt to an extremely high specification, on the same plot of land.The re building work was completed in the spring of 2009. It has been furnished by interior designers.. It holds many happy memories for its owners. We hope you can share their pleasures and return annually to this peaceful location.
Golf:
There are numerous testing and beautiful golf courses within a fifteen minute drive of this villa. The nearest two being Gramacho, a championship course and Pinta. These are reached within a five minute drive. The five courses at Villamoura are a twenty minute drive away. The newly opened course, designed by Nick Faldo at Guia is fiteen minutes by car. Penina is also fifteen minutes by car.
The less difficult course at Vale de Milho is perfect for beginners.
