The traditional village of Vlahata, is located at the bottom of Mount Ainos, and because of its elevated position, it enjoys unique panoramic views across the Ionian Sea. The natural beauty seen in this area of Kefalonia, consists of cypress trees, olive and pine trees, as well as more exotic species, such as palms and banana trees. Lourdas bay is situated directly below Vlahata on the south coast of Kefalonia and is one of the largest bays on the island, being fringed by over 3 kilometers of sand and pebble beach. In the village itself, there are several restaurants, tavernas and small shops. Argostoli, the capital of the Island, is just 10km away, and is a bustling cosmopolitan town with a lovely relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There are many excellent restaurants, and the large square is a meeting point for locals and tourists alike. You will also find a large range of up market boutiques and designer shops, for those wishing to indulge themselves.
