Newport is a small town of pretty, narrow streets gathered below Newport castle that sits beneath Carningli, the most northern peak of the Preseli Mountains and is situated within the Pembrokeshire National Park overlooking a vast stretch of sandy beach. Newport is surrounded by the most beautiful cliffs and coves that can be seen and accessed from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path that runs through the town.
The town hosts a number of shops that cater for arts, crafts, a wide variety of food and a health clinic.
There is a wonderful array of sea and wildlife. The seals are never far away and dolphins visit the area in the warmer months. There are some great beaches including Parrog beach with its estuary, boats and rock pools. There is Walking, Pony Trekking, Tennis, Golf, Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Bike Riding and Bird watching nearby.
The Ferry port of Fishguard is 4 miles to the West on the way to the cathedral city of St. Davids. Eleven miles east is the town of Cardigan.
