Brand new 2 double bedroom apartment located in the very centre of the old city of Barcelona, 5 minutes walk to “Las Ramblas” , 2 minutes to all major tourist attraction in the old city and straight to the beach at Barceloneta in 15. The apartment was completely renovated in 2008 to a high spec and stylishly furnished to suit all tastes. It has 2 exterior double bedrooms with double beds that can be split into 4 single beds making it perfect for friends or families. An open plan large living room with balconies overlooking the street, a double sofa-bed, flat screen TV and DVD player. Plus an American style kitchen which is completely equipped and also houses a dining table which seats 4 - 6 people. There is also a brand new shower room with loo and sink and very importantly air con / central heating throughout. The apartment is fully equipped and fresh linen and towels are provided. The Gaudi apartment is situated in the same block as Miro but is on the first floor with few steps up to the front door. It is identical to Miro with 2 x double bedrooms sleeping 4 persons as couples or singles. Like Miro the floors are tiled throughout in terracotta and ceiling beams give it that real Mediterranean feel. Soft furnishings and choice of colours enhance the experience of being in the capital of cool. In house entertainment is provide by a flat screen TV, DVD and IPOD docking station. The kitchen is fully equipped but just open the lounge doors and you will see directly below an array of dining choices from traditional Catalan cuisine to contemporary fare. No need for taxis, buses or metros you are right in the heart of it here and you will be armed with useful information on arrival as to the local amenities. Cleaning, towels and linen all included in the nightly price.

The downtown area is perhaps the most interesting part of the old city. It combines in great harmony the old and traditional Barcelona with the modern and “fashion” character of which Barcelona is famous for. Historically this area used to be very densely populated until the city walls were removed around the beginning of the 20th century and the Eixample area was constructed. In 1988 the government started a huge urban regeneration project and invested a lot of money in modernizing the area and it has become much more modern and significantly more attractive. Today the district is a mixture of the old and the new, the foreign and the local, the sophisticated and the popular. The upper part houses today Universities, the Contemporary Culture Center (CCCB), the FAD (Barcelona Design Office) and the Museum of Contemporary Art (the MACBA) built by the famous architect Richard Meier.

    For 3-4 sharing the price per night is 110.0 euros with a 10% discount given for booking for one week and over = 693 euros for 7 days.
  • THERE WILL BE A SMALL CHECK IN FEE . This is usually 50e and includes the cleaning, fresh towels, linen and a Q and A session about the area and the apartment.

    To book: 70% Is due at time of booking by bank transfer to a SPANISH bank account. This can be broken down into 3 instalments. The remaining 30% is to be paid in CASH on arrival to the meeter and greeter in EUROS.

    The meeter and greeter is English, she has lived in Barcelona for a number of years and is fluent in Spanish and English. She can provide in-valuable local knowledge of shops, restaurants, bars, day-trips and she will show you around the apartment and ensure that you are settled and answer any questions.
  • Please note: If guest are departing your day of arrival check in time is at 4pm, however it is always possible to drop off luggage at 11am and return by 4pm (sometimes earlier) when the apartment will have been cleaned and prepared for you.

    Check out time is strictly 11am. However if you do have a later flight, we offer a luggage storage facility for 25 euros for the day. We will pick up your luggage at 11am and return it to you at a convenient time.

Situated right down town and within minutes of all major sights such as Picasso Museum, Macba, Boqueria Market, Santa Maria Cathedral, Ciutadell park, the Zoo and Parc montjuic with the cable car and off course shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, banks etc. One of the great advantages of being down town means it is easy to walk to Passeig de Gracia and hop on an overground train for 30 minutes and get off at wonderful, clean, sandy beaches with restaurants at places such as Garaf, Sitges, Casteldelfels, Mas Nou, Ocata, Premia del Mar and St Pol. Lazy days at beautiful beaches not to be missed.

Terrific For Family Of Four From U.S.

Our Barcelona family vacation was a trip of a lifetime! Our stay in the Gaudi apartment helped make this so memorable. I was initially apprehensive coordinating all the arrangements online, but Claire was extremely helpful, responsive, attentive to our needs and timely in coordinating our stay. She couldn't have suggested a better apartment in Barcelona.

Claire suggested this apartment after others we had inquired about had already been reserved. The photos on the website accurately reflected the apartment itself. What we discovered when we arrived was an extremely clean, new, bright, modern, secure European apartment perfectly sized for my husband and I and our 2 teenagers. As advertised, though the apartment was on the 1st floor, there were 40 steps to climb before reaching the door. As you naturally do a lot of walking throughout Barcelona, anyway, this was not an issue for us.

The location of the Gaudi apartment was outstanding! We were just a short walk to La Rambla, the Bouqueria, museums, sites and transportation links. We felt safe walking through the surrounding neighborhood and frequented some of the smaller ethnic shops and markets near the apartment and found some great buys. We enjoyed opening the balcony doors during breakfast to drink in the Mediterranean sunshine.

We appreciated George's orientation to the Gaudi apartment and to Barcelona, in general. His tips on the beaches were right on. Based on his recommendation, we spent a day at the beach in Garaf. A family orientated, breathtakingly beautiful beach, we loved our day there. We highly recommend the hotel restaurant on the rocks overlooking the Sea where we enjoyed a late afternoon lunch of paella and sangria. The beaches at Sitges were also fabulous and a must visit. Both Garaf and Sitges were an easy (and scenic!) 30 minute train ride from Barcelona.

We have already recommended this website and the property owner to our friends and family. We will definitely use these services in the future ~ our next vacation abroad can't come soon enough!

Good Property

The apartment was very nice, modern and well kept. They city it self is very relaxed with many different things to do. Plenty of shops near by to purchase supplies and a plenty of nice restaurants near by.

I would say the street we stayed on is not for families though, as we were harrased by pick pockets one evening on our way back at night, although never had any problems before 11:00.

If you can stay away from La Rambla by taking the top and bottom rodd (Top City - Bottom Harbour/Beach) of La Rambla Ravel (Next to the apartment) you will also avoid the pick pockets by taking these roads.

I found this to be an excellent destination to stay, with George the gentleman who introduced us to the property giving excellent tips about the city

Will definetly stay here again!

Family of 4 - superb time in Barcelona!!!

The accommodation is just as listed in the description. The property was modern, clean and well maintained with good facilities. Someone was there to meet and greet us as agreed and took care of any issues we had throughout our stay. At the end of our stay they took care of our luggage until we went to the airport which was a huge help.
The property is the in the old village, just off La Ramblas and felt slightly uncomfortable at first, but we had no problems whatsoever and the locals were friendly.

We had a great time in Barcelona and would definitely recommend this accommodation as a place to stay. Visitors must go on the tourist bus around Barcelona - this was well worth the money. The Port Olympia beach was much better than the Port Vell (unless you prefer nudist beaches!!!)

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent once you get your head around the busy street and the variety of people! The apartment was clean, spacious and well maintained The kitchen is fine too (no oven)l but you don't need it as there are lots of really good restaurants nearby with small grocery shops and a bakery. Despite the central location the apartment remains private and quiet. The service was excellent in terms of being met with the key and provided with lots of local information which was useful and time saving.

Good location just off Ramblas. Once inside the accommodation is extremely comfortable and stylish. I would recommend this apt. to friends and will use again when we next visit Barcelona. George the check in guy gave us information on the best way to get around and recommended some excellent eating places. The bedrooms were at the back of the apartment and therefore nice and quiet. The living room overlookes a busy street which had some very colourful occupants! However they kept themselves to themselves and at no time did we feel threatened. All in all a very good place to stay.
