Villa Mal is a 2 storey house located in the small village of Prcanj ,near the lively town of Kotor, in the southern most Fjords in Europe. The property has air con/heating, parking & own water supply. It boasts a living room (double sofa bed) with patio doors opening to a large terrace. On this terrace we have a banana tree which we believe to be unique in this area. The house is in an elevated position & there are amazing views over the bay and surrounding mountains. The fitted kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine & separate eating area. There is a modern bathroom with pressurized shower.Upstairs the double bedroom opens onto a balcony where you can watch the cruise ships on the Adriatic! There is also a twin room. Some original features are off set by the modern decor. Should more than 6 people wish to rent extra bedrooms are available. See 'further details'.

The village is 3 min walk down our hill.It has a lovely bakery,restaurants,bar and post office.In this area the small pebbly beach has a gentle slope which is very popular with children and good for snorkeling! There is a diving board/steps nearby off the jetty.10 minute walk away there are 2 hotels. In the 4 star Splendido you can hire a sunlounger/ parasol,you have use of the seawater pool.There is a lovely beach side bar/restaurant in this hotel.The beautiful sandy beaches of ‘Plavi Horizonti’, ‘Jaz’, ‘Milocer’, ‘Przno’ and ‘Trsteno’ are all approx half an hour drive away.In August each year the festival on Jaz beach has attracted such guests as Rolling Stones,Madonna and Tina Turner.As well as great restaurants,coffee shops and bars in Kotor there is a also a Casino and a good night club for the lively.The party town of Budva, up-and-coming Tivat, and palatial Perast are all a short distance away.

On the other side there is 1 bedroom: 1 double bedroom and 1 double sofa bed in the living room, for rental to over 6 people. If the house is rented to 6 people it is semi detached. If it is rented to over 6 then it is detached. The house is on its own piece of land. The owners keep the 1 bedroom house for their own use but will rent the extra bedrooms on request.

Notes: The house is divided vertically. The two bed is fully equip and modernized for rental and is suitable for up to 6 people. Should more than 6 care to rent then there is an option to use the other side (1 bed) ,which the owners stay in when in Montenegro. On this side there is 1 double bedroom, 1 double sofa bed and 1 bathroom. The fitted kitchen in this side is not modern or fully equip, however access to the two bed is on both downstairs terrace and upstairs balcony. Both houses are fully air conditioned/heated.

Local Taxis and buses are 3 min from property and are priced very reasonable.Daily excursions can be arranged in Kotor to local interests and also the religious town of Medjugorje in Croatia, Dubrovnick in Croatia and also Mostar in Bosnia. The ferry from Kotor to Bari in Italy is timetabled regularly.English newspapers are available in Kotor. There is a fruit/fish market in Kotor and also a local craft market in the evenings. There are many festivals in Kotor during high season.A boat can be hired to bring you to the many restaurants across the bay.The beach at Jaz has swimming pools made in the rocks which are suitable for children. There is a new Marina being built in nearby Tivat and in 2010 a new shopping centre will be completed in Kotor.

What views!!

This is our first holiday to Kotor and we were thrilled with this house. We found the house to be well maintained, spacious, clean & well equiped with washing machine, dishwasher & cooking facilities.

We were delighted that each room had a seperate air con units- it made the house very comfortable for our young children (who had a great time)!! Our 5 year old had great fun on the balcony looking at the ships passing by while having lunch!! The views from the balconly are fab, watching the sun setting in the evenings & the clouds rising over the mountains in the mornings!!

We found the locals to be very nice & helpful- the bakery down the hill is lovely- fresh bread & cakes everyday!!

The small beach is ideal for small children (just at the bottom of the hill) There are some lovely restaurants along the road to Old Town which are very child friendly.

I would'nt hesitate to recommend this holiday home to others!!

We spent a fabulous week in April '09 in this beautiful house. The location has to be seen to be believed it is breathtaking. All the facilities in the house are of an excellent standard fully fitted kitchen, shower etc. There are some lovely restaurants just 10 mins. walk away, also the local shop (Hot baked rolls every morning !) is just down the hill.We hired a car and did some sight seeing but also spent time lying at the side of the Adriatic just watching the ships go into Kotor bay. We will definitely be back.

I don’t usually do sunshine holidays, however, I needed a break and was taken by the description of this house and location. I tok the house for a week there at the end of May.

The place is better than the description. The house is well appointed with a new kitchen, large bedrooms and living area. The views of the fiord and mountains are spectacular and the people very friendly. Locally there are cafes and restaurants or 3 km away is the town of Kotor. A pleasant mix of harbour, fortified old town and new with shops and supermarket I found it very relaxing and easy to unwind. My only criticism is that the house was not available the following week - not to worry theres always next year.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

The athmosphere in our local village is indeed friendly and the locals are very nice. You could spend many happy days in the area, relaxing and unwinding. A favourite passtiime is going down to the edge of the Adriatic at about 4.30pm each day and watch the boats sailing up the Fjord to the marina in Kotor!

Great Getaway

I was here in July 2008 The apartment was very spacious and clean, it felt very much like a home away from home. Very easy to get settled into and start to enjoy the fabulous surroundings. Even having cooking equipment made our holiday that much more convenient.
The breath taking views of the surrounding mountains and seas really sold it for us. Waking up and having a balcony with those views was priceless.
The beach just a small walk away is the perfect place to relax in the sun. I would recommend this location to anyone its a great getaway.

FABULOUS APPARTMENT

We stayed in this fabulous appartment for the first week in July. The appartment has been refurbished to an excellent standard. (home from home).
We enjoyed homemade breakfasts on the balcony overlooking the stunningly beautiful fjord.
The local beech and restaurant is a stroll down the hill.
Highly recommended !!
