Kitchen and Lounge:
The large dine-in kitchen has underfloor heated slate tiles so you can wander around in bare feet and feel luxuriously warm! The brand new fitted kitchen has an integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine and is fully equipped for preparing dinner parties, pre- barbeque snacks or just the basics - you can't beat our coffee grinder and fresh coffee beans for an early morning wake-up!
The kitchen is perfect on sunny mornings with the sun streaming in through the windows; large family breakfasts before hitting the beach, or brunch with friends after a night out!
The lounge is a light, sun-drenched room with patio doors opening directly onto the terraced garden letting in the summer breezes.There are two large comfortable sofas (one is a double sofa bed), a flat screen TV with Sky, DVD player & movies, and an ipod dock stereo - however you like to relax, it's covered!
The real oak flooring & underfloor heating with the feature Victorian fireplace for cosy warmth.
Garden and Surf Room:
The terraced west-facing garden is a sun-trap year round and has some lovely established plants including bamboo, camellia and vines. You will hear the sounds of birds singing, and in the distance the waves breaking on Croyde beach.
With a small grass lawn on the lower level for playing games or lounging, and shade under the large umbrella on the top terrace for enjoying cool drinks, the garden makes a lovely alternative to the beach. Later in the evening, enjoy sunset dining at the alfresco table and chairs, and the outdoor fireplace is there to keep you warm when the sun dips out of sight.
The best surfer friendly feature of the The Lookout is the surf room – the garage has been converted into a fantastic utility room for surfers:You are able to walk straight in from the beach and have a warm shower whilst taking off your wetsuit…no changing in the car park! Having somewhere set aside for drying wetsuits and keeping boards safe without having them clutter-up the house or garden.
For The Kids:
The great thing about the location of The Lookout is that you can walk to the beach…no loading-up the car, rounding-up the troops and trying to find a parking space near the sand! Instead, a lovely ten-minute stroll down the footpath from the village past the fields (with rabbits!) and through the dunes brings you to the sand and surf.' We know what it is like getting out of the house with kids, so to make it even easier you can use The Lookout’s Red Wagon! You can use it to transport all you beach goodies and / or the kids to the beach and the Red Wagon’s big wheels mean you can even pull it across soft sand. We have provided a family cool box, parasol, windbreak, body boards and a selection of beach games so you don’t have to cart all of yours from home (we know there is already no space in the car!).Inside The Lookout we have tried to include helpful items for the family. There are stair gates, a high chair, a sterilizer, bottle brush, blender and cot.
