Photos and Description of this Norfolk holiday house Sleeps 8, four bedrooms, peaceful location

The Anchorage was built in 1976 and has been recently been refurbished throughout. The property has a lounge looking out over the front garden, with sea views. You can sit on the settees - which include 4 recliner seats and watch the ships sail by on the sea, whilst the children play on the front lawn. Dining Room with French doors out to the patio, at the rear of the house. The patio adjoins to a large garden area and drive. There is garden furniture - a table and plenty of chairs. The kitchen has all new appliances - dishwasher, washing machine, cooker and hob, microwave. There is a cloakroom with sink and WC downstairs and one double bedroom. There is a conservatory looking over the rear garden and a porch looks over the front. Upstairs there are three bedrooms - two double with televisions and one with twin beds. There are two bathrooms, both with baths and showers.

The Anchorage is positioned on the sea front, with beautiful views of the sea, the beach and amazing sunsets. If you are an early bird you can view the sun rising over the sea. With the beach less than a minute walk through the sand dunes, you can have hours of fun building sand castles or just relaxing, basking in the sunshine. The sea leaves beautiful shallow pools that children or adults can play in - searching for sea life - crabs and tiny fish for example. You can collect shells and pebbles. Scratby is approximately 6 miles North of Great Yarmouth and is situated on the coast between Caister-on-sea and Hemsby. There is plenty to do, visit Caister Castle and the Motor Museum. Pleasure Beach, cinema, crazy golf, amusements and shopping in GY. Visit surrounding picturesque villages - an example: Horning situated on the River Bure, whose origin dates back to Roman times, a mixture of small shops, boat yards and thatched cottages. Mississippi style paddle boat.

We had a brilliant holiday! What a lovely, relaxing property, well equipped, brilliant location and fab views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the sea views were amazing, watching the sunset over the waves - beautiful. Our two children had a lovely time, one minute from the fab sandy, clean beach. And thanks to Debbie for being so helpful with the highchair! We have already recommended this property to friends and hope to return ourselves in the future!
Owner's Response: We look forward to seeing you and your friends in your future. Arranging the highchair was no problem, all part of the service! Having 3 children of our own we know how important it is to have a well equipped facility and not be too far away from the beach and things to do!

Relaxing holiday had by the whole family

We had a wonderful time at The Anchorage in July. The owners have done a fabulous job on refurbing the property, it was clean and tidy and had all the facilities you could hope to find. The holiday home is situated on the beach with breathtaking views from the property, and only a stoll away to dip your feet in the sea and make sand castles! The area is very quiet, perfect for relaxation - and only a stone throw away (10-15 minutes drive) is the centre of Great Yarmouth if you fancy a lively day or evening - the kids throughly enjoyed the rides and candy floss too. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and look forward to returning again to The Anchorage.

Perfect Place for R & R

Moment I arrived, I forgot all my business worries and relaxed. Beautifully located on the cliff top. Less than a minutes walk onto the beach. Fabulous beach and sea views from all the front windows. Great for the Grandchildren - all had a fabulous time playing on the beach and paddling in the pools (although noisy at times!)Not too far from Great Yarmouth the children had a fun time at Joyland on the snails, racing cars, spinning tubs and on the pier. The children all had a wonderful time exploring Bewilderwood - recommend you take a picnic.
Fresh crab to eat delicious - cromer crab shop by First & Last Pub on road to Great Yarmouth. Sat out on patio in the back garden, with a cool beer watching the sun go down with friends. Will definately look to book again!

We had a great time here, just the ticket. Great views from the house and literally a stones throw from the beach! The house fitted all 8 of us in easily and we did not feel crowded. Great location for exploring the whole region, away from the hustle and bustle of Great Yarmouth. Decorated and furinshed to a high standard we will certainly be back again next year. Thank you Ian, Vicky and Friends
