Vale de Parra holiday apartment: Galé

We have been to Flor do Vale twice now and plan to return next year.
The rooms are clean and tidy and there is a daily maid service apart from Wednesday and Sundays.
There is a small television on which you can view Sky News and BBC1 so you can keep up to date with what is gonig on back home, altohugh it would be nice if other English channels were available but as the weather is so good you don't end up watching TV anyway.
The owner, Fernando is an excellent host and if you do have a problem nothing is too much trouble for him to resolve it.
He is very friendly and makes you feel very welcome.
The pool area and gardens are really nice and very peaceful as there is no music playing and on the occasions that we have stayed there are never more than 10 other people around the pool.
It is in a very quiet location and although that might not suit everyone there are bars and restaurants within 10 minutes walk.
Cabanitas bar shows all the football games you could wish for and the beer is around 2 euros for a 400ml glass.
We found the Girasol, Sao Domingos and Cas de Carne all very good and there is also a good Indian restaurant next to the "famous" cake shop Boca Doce.
If you like a pub quiz there is one every Thursday night in The View Bar which is a bit of fun and not taken too seriously
We hired a car and were able to visit a few more restaurants and I can recommend Prima Pasta for Italian or O' Mariniero for Mediterannean cuisine.
O'Mariniero is pricey but its well worth it for the quality of the food.
There are several lovely beaches in the area with Gale perhaps being the best, its around 30 mins walk from Flor Do Vale so perhaps a car would be better.
For those of you who like shopping there is The Algarve Shopping centre which is 10 minutes away by car where you can find various department stores as well as a cinema and a Bowling alley.
You can organise taxis from the front desk as well should you wish to go to into Albufeira for a livelier night and its only 10 minutes away.
To sum it up if you want a place that is clean, comfortable , peaceful and an ideal place to unwind ang get away from it all look no further than Flor Do Vale
