This fabulous 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment is the perfect location for a holiday in the popular and central Mijas area of the Costa del Sol. The property has been furnished to very high standards & has everything you could hope for from a holiday apartment. We rely heavily on word of mouth recommendations. The master bedroom has large double bed, air con & 32' flat screen TV. Travel cot also available. The en-suite bathroom has hydro massage shower & twin basins. The second bedroom has twin beds & air con. Kitchen fully equipped with fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine, electric fan oven & gas hob & washing machine. The living room has satellite TV, DVD/CD player, 5.1 Dolby digital home cinema with iPod connectivity, books & open plan dining area with seating for 4 people. Private heated pool for perfect winter breaks away. As owners of The Apartment, we live on the upper floors and are out at work during the day, hence private pool.

Calahonda is a central location on the Costa del Sol situated 30 mins drive west of Malaga airport & is in between Fuengirola & Marbella. It is quite simple to get from the airport to The Apartment along the N340 coastal road & the A7 motorway (direction Algeciras/Marbella) We can talk anyone through the directions if needed. The local area attracts many tourists year after year and is perfectly suited for families, golfing holidays, relaxing breaks away as well as activity holidays along the coast (kids park nearby) as well as inland and offers something for everyone. Being near to the N-340 coastal road means it is easy to reach other local sights and towns very quickly and easily and there is also a motorway exit for Calahonda making it easy to get to the airport. A car hire is advisable & we recommend http://www.simplycarhirespain.com to search for the best deals available. We can arrange a transfer to & from the airport for 50 euros each way if needed.

    For last minute bookings (under 6 weeks away), the full booking amount is required to fully book the apartment.

    For bookings 6+ weeks away, a non-refundable booking deposit of 25% is required to fully book the apartment with the balance being due min 6 weeks prior to holiday dates.

    BREAKAGES DEPOSIT: A fully refundable breakages deposit of £100 is payable with the balance of the holiday reservation. The Apartment will be checked immediately after you have left and returned to you by bank transfer within 2 weeks providing no major breakages/damage have occured.

Notes: The apartment has a private terrace and pool area shared with residents (owners of The Apartment) on the upper floor but we do not use the pool or garden area when we have guests staying as we also have sun terraces etc. on the upper floors. There are several local information guides kept in The Apartment in addition to a mini apartment and area guide we have written ourselves and having lived in the area for 5 years we can also advise on any particular activities, restaurants, bars etc. that you may be interested in knowing about. We understand that familiies with young children may also be interested in knowing about babysitting facilities and I would be happy to speak to any family interested in knowing more about what's on offer. As we live on site I am happy to consider doing this myself and understand that parents may wish to arrive and meet me before considering this option. With 6 babies under the age of 2 in my immediate family I have lots of experience with babies.

Calahonda and the local area and further info: Calahonda has a very central location on the Costa del Sol 7 is only around 30 mins drive from Malaga airport/50 mins from Gibraltar/20 mins from Marbella. The beach is 15-20 mins walk away. The local shops are a short walk, as are various bars & restaurants and a mini supermarket (larger supermarkets including a Supersol, Mercadona, Lidl approx. 15 mins walk away). To maximize on the local attractions we advise using a car. Along the coast you will not go short of places to enjoy a range of water and beach based activities as well as be able to drive inland to visit the magnificent El Chorro lakes, enjoy a day in Malaga city or get to the local water park and themed parks such as the Selwo natural park. Calahonda is ideal for family holidays as the kids will not go bored with the amount of things to do (tennis club 5 mins away) and in addition, the number of golf courses also mean it is ideal for golfing breaks all year round.

Local Golf Info: Cabopino Golf is a popular golf course on the doorstep and offers water features and wooded areas to test all levels of golfer. Club La Siesta to the north of Calahonda is a par 3 golf course Miraflores not only offers golf but horse riding, tennis and bowls as well. The Apartment has a private pool that is also heated making it an ideal way to combine your winter golfing break.

Wider area and ski information: The Sierra Nevada is around 1 hour drive away and during the ski season and Calahonda is perfectly placed for you to benefit from a fantastic beach side location whilst only being a short drive up into the mountains to make the most of the skiing opportunities in Spain. The Costa del Sol really does offer so much more than the hub of activity on the coastal stretch. Beyond the hills of Malaga you will find the massive El Chorro lakes surrounded by lush greenery that surprise everyone who visits them. You can also easily reach Gibraltar, Ronda, Jerez and Granada in a day trip out.

A great apartment in a peaceful location

A fantastic apartment with excellent facilities. The description is accurate and comprehensive, whilst the photos give a good feel of the property. However, seeing is believing and our kids thought it was "awesome". The apartment was clean, well maintained and stocked with good quality linen, towels, kitchen appliances and an extensive range of utensils and crockery etc. The outdoor area is amazing - a large dining table, sunbeds and a chill-out bed. The Weber gas BBQ is big and a bonus for those enjoying outdoor cooking.
The owners were available when needed and provided us with information regarding the local areas. Although they live upstairs, they respect your privacy at all times.
Car hire is not essential, but is great for visiting local beaches and nearby Marbella. There are also several large supermarkets close by, but a long, hot walk away without a car.
In summary, a perfect place for those wanting luxurious holiday accomodation, a private pool and secluded garden area in a central location close to Marbella and Malaga.

Amazing apartment

We hadn't stayed in a private holiday apartment for many years and to be honest although all the photos looked very nice both of us were a little bit nervous. We shouldn't have been though as this property is simply fantastic, the pictures are totally accurate and the location is so very quiet. We had a fabulous holiday and will recommend the apartment to our friends and family.
