Photos and Description of this Minho & Costa Verde holiday Historic Manor House, with separate accommodation for couples or small families

A spectacular 18th Century hunting lodge built by an ancestor of the present owner, the house has one suite, two studio apartments and two further 2-bedroom apartments. All have their own bathroom facilities and lounge area, and most also have a kitchenette for self catering, though breakfast is included in the price and may be taken in the main dining room with the family. There's a lovely secluded 9m x 4.5m swimming pool, and wonderful forested gardens with meandering paths and water features. The whole estate is enclosed by a high wall that gives a lot of privacy, despite the fact that Esteiró is only just across from the beach. The furnishings and style are designed to make you feel at home rather than in the pristine, sterile surroundings of a hotel, and the facilities will enable you to have a great holiday, by the pool or on the beach, or combined with touring around the quaint and historic villages and beautiful landscapes of the Minho region.

Packed with history, with an active nightlife and truly spectacular views of river, ocean and mountains, Caminha is the gem of the Alto Minho region. The town sits on the River Minho, which marks the border with Spain, and it's just a short ferry crossing into Galicia to explore the very different coastline. The beautiful central 'praça' is only 1km away, and the beaches are even closer. There are many fantastic restaurants, and all the amenities you need for your holiday. Caminha is also served by rail from Porto and Vigo (in Spain), and is close to motorways making access to many more historic cities quick and easy (like Porto, Braga, Guimarães and Valença), as well as the wild rugged hills just a few kilometers inland and Portugal's only National Park, just 50km away. With Porto, Santiago de Compostel and Vigo airports within easy reach, this is also a great spot for a short off-season break. Esteiró is hidden away in heavily wooded gardens between town and beach.
