Lenno is the oldest village on Lake Como and gets its name from the Greek Island of Lemnos, where the first inhabitants came from to populate this area.
It is only a 15 min. drive from the city of Como with its classy shops, boutiques and the famous street market, or a short trip in the hydrofoil, which stops regularly in the harbour of Lenno.
A short 5 min. walk from the apartment will take you to the lake promenade with its bars, restaurants, the famous Lido di Lenno offering a made made sandy beach, a shingle beach plus a bar, disco and restaurant. You can also catch the passenger ferry to lakeside towns all over the lake, hire motor boats for the day from the bay of Lenno or catch the water taxi to Villa Balbianello (an alternative to walking to the famous Villa).
To the back of the village, various foot paths will bring you past olive groves, a famous monastery and a pilgrims path into the mountains, with some stunning views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
