The original bastide is 400 years old and has been sensitively renovated to create luxury holiday apartments. The building has a feeling of a manor house with its triumphant archway and courtyard. Shuttered windows open onto stunning views over the well-maintained golf course. The patio doors open onto a large outdoor terrace perfect for watching sunrise and sunset. Enter from the main bastide terrace into living/kitchen area. Original stone walls (stays cool in hot weather) and contemporary furnishings including a dining table with two chairs and two armchairs. The kitchen has 2 electric hobs, heating, fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher. 1 large double bed upstairs with adjoining bathroom/shower. The swimming pool is shared with other bastide residents. There are 2 other pools on-site including a children’s pool. The golf club has a restaurant and a spa with indoor heated swimming pool (payment on-site). Residents parking.

The apartment is part of a 15C bastide (a dwelling built in rectilinear style) and is situated on the Golf d'Albret. It is 2 minute drive to the picturesque village of Barbaste, with its Roman bridges, canals and a restaurant next to the Henri IV watermill. The town of Nerac (10 min drive) with its chateau and typical french market is a beautiful old town offering al fresco dining next to the River Baïse, walks and boating along the river. There is also a newly built aqua resort. Nerac offers everything you would expect from a French market town. Further afield there are chateaux, grottos, Les Landes forest and the Atlantic coast.

    There is an additional charge of 7 euros per night for bed linen and towels, electricity & water. This is paid on-site. You will pick up clean linen from the main reception and therefore pay them for the usage of these services. At the end of your stay you will need to return your linen and pay reception directly. Again more information can be obtained from the owners.

  • A refundable security deposit of £250 is required to cover any breakages during your stay. This can be paid with your deposit in the same bank transfer. Your deposit will be repaid once the apartment has been cleaned, usually the day after your departure.

  • Cancellation policy: In the event of a cancellation the reservation deposit is refundable provided an alternative booking is secured for the same period. The balance is due 6 weeks before arrival.

Nerac, LOT-ET-GARONNE: The Aquitaine / Lot et Garonne region There are many beautiful bastide towns to discover, such as the towns of Monflanquin and Villereal. - One of the finest castles in France is at Chateau Bonaguil and another impressive castle close by at Chateau Biron. Nerac is beautiful market town to spend a morning exploring, and there are some interesting medieval buildings to discover around the old town, which lies on both sides of the Baise River. The cluster of buildings just north of the Vieux Pont is a good place to start, then explore the section of the town south of the river and between the two bridges (behind and south of the castle). Chateau Henry IV at Nerac attracts many visitors to the town, and only a part of the original chateau remains...but it is a very mpressive wing of the original castle, with an outward curving wall and an arcaded balcony with decorative columns running along the first floor level. The castle now houses a museum tracing the history of the region.

The Golf Course: A genuine green haven in the heart of the Albret country, the Golf course is first and foremost remarkable for its undulating terrain, its track and the natural environment of its setting, dominating both exceptional views and at the same time forming the border with the Landes forest. It offers many viewpoints or panoramas which are all equally magnificent to stop and admire: A centenary oak in the middle of the course, a weeping willow on one water hazard, panoramic views over the renovated roofs of the “bastides. Unfarmed hills on the opposite side of the valley, native trees of the Landes forest, acacias, pines, oaks, all creating a show, with the chance of sighting a hare leaping across your path, or a deer appearing out of a wood, just to Unique view from a high tee shot over the village of Lausseignan and its clock tower emerging from the trees and a glimpse of a few whitewashed facades and wine coloured roof tops.
