Paphos is a well established holiday destination, a favourite of many Brtish and German visitors who visit year after year. Visitors are attracted by the 10 months per year of glorious mediteranean climate and sunshine and the short flight times of just four and half hours. Cyprus is a beautiful island steeped in history, pretty scenery and beautiful rugged coastlines
Paphos town has a very pretty harbour with its famous castle edged with wonderful seafood restaurants and cafes along the promenade. In the old town you can browse around winding streets, quaint shops and a covered craft market.
There are plenty of large hypernarkets and shops and a lively nightlife in the famous bar street area. you wont run out of things to see and do, you can do as much or as little as you like.
Kissonerga & Chlorakas area information :
Kissonerga is a pretty and traditional village located between the central tourist area of Paphos and Coral Bay. The main old village is located slightly inland and the main high street of the village is lined with a good selection of grocery shops, convenience store kiosks, a pharmacy and a good choice of traditional tavernas.
Where the villa is close to the beach there are sea front located shops and tavernasa all within walking distance.
Kissonerga is ideally located for visitors who want to experience living in a traditional village but also want to be close to the busy evening entertainment offered by central Paphos and Coral Bay.
Family activities in the local area:
The Paphos area is great for families as there is such a large choice of things to see and do in the area. Activities include Water Parks, an Aquarium, Blue Flag safe beach at Coral Bay, a bird and reptile park, a donkey sanctuary, ten pin bowling, diving, water sports, boat trips, snorkeling trips, jeep safaris, go-carting tracks with tunnels, mountain biking and horse riding.
If you enjoy local history you are spoilt for choice and much of it is in the Paphos area with the mosaics, Tombs of the Kings and Byzantium museums in Paphos, Aphrodites bath and ruins at Ayios Georgios and Polis area.
Ski:
Cyprus may be well known for its sunshine and beach holidays but in the winter months up in the Troodos mountains there is a ski area with ski lifts that gets good snow coverage and is popular with locals and visitors that want to ski in the morning and sun bathe in the afternoon!!!
Golf:
Three golf courses are all within a 15 minute drive of the villa the most famous of which is Aphrodite Hills and Secret Valley both are open to the general public.
