An attractive and well-equipped period house in a lovely tree-lined street in Putney. Five double bedrooms plus a double sofabed downstairs. Optional extra beds or cot. Two bathrooms, one en-suite, and a separate cloakroom. Luxurious Egyptian cotton bedlinen and towels provided. Huge gourmet's kitchen with marble worktops. Range cooker with built-in indoor barbecue, microwave, bread maker, dishwasher and fridge-freezer, and a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble drier. Large dining area. Sitting room has TV, DVD and audio and open fireplace. The family room has a computer and wireless broadband. In addition there is a garden room, overlooking the pretty, south facing garden which is ideal for barbecues and al-fresco dining. Putney is conveniently located for access to Central London by buses, underground or train. Putney itself is the centre of English rowing, being the location for the world-famous Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race and the Head of the River Race, which take place only a few minutes away from the house. It has a lively social scene, with dozens of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and price ranges, including several overlooking the River Thames. There is also a cinema. Putney is surrounded by open spaces, including Putney Common, Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park. There is a fine nature reserve at the Wetland Centre, a pleasant short walk along the towpath. It is close to Southfields, for Wimbledon tennis. There is a small park near to the house, with a children's playground and public tennis courts. Good shopping, with an open-air food market every Friday.
