The shopping capital of South Goa is the town of Margao 10 kms away with its open markets, souvenirs and local sarongs, saris and jewellery etc and a variety of very inexpensive resuarants.

FOOD,DRINK & ENTERTAINMENT: There are various International cuisine restaurants and weekly entertainment programmes at the two luxurious 5 star hotels of Radission White Sands and Taj Exotica which are just a short walk on the beach from White sands Bungalow. The local beach hut at the Varca beach 300m away provides Goan cuisine and delicious seafood specialties whilst watching the glorious sunsets whilst over the road the Indian restaurant offers good quality food at inexpensive prices in a family setting. There are numerous eateries at Benaulim beach nearby offering Goan, Indian and Chinese dishes and drinks at very reasonable prices as well as some local and western music nights. For self catering the local shops at Varca village 1km away provide a very low cost range of food, vegetables, meat and household items in line with the local low cost of living.
