Local Area:
Torrevieja 15 min drive, is a bustling town based on an old fishing village. It has all the amenities needed for eating, drinking, shopping & generally having fun in the sun! Within 5 mins drive is the lovely beach of Compoamor with the quiet beaches of La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Playa Flamenca. The villa is within 5km of the N332 road at the Southern end of Torrevieja. Several large supermarkets are only 5 minutes drive away. The Waterpark in Torrevieja is a favorite attraction for families and young visitors, with several Go-Kart tracks in the area too, which are excellent fun for all ages! Why not try the famous Villamartin Plaza, some of the best restaurants on the Costa Blanca. Cabo Roig boasts of some lively nightlife with bars, clubs and discos. A little further afield the renouned resort of Benidorm (approx. 1.5hrs drive) is well worth a visit as there are lots of places of interest for the tourist, including Terra Mitica Theme Park which the kids will love!
Costa Blanca:
The 'White Coast' is famous for its wonderful climate, all year round. Even the Spanish claim that local inhabitants live up to 10 years longer than in the rest of Spain! It is named after the wonderful almond blossom that is the first of the year and is a beautiful sight in January through to March. Facilities have improved dramatically in the last few years, particularly with the addition of motorway routes directly into the area and the growth of the excellent, all year round golf courses.
Ski:
Granada is approx. 3.5 hours drive.
A winter coach service runs through Playa Flamenca although I am unable to guarantee this service.
Golf:
Close by is the Villamartin Championship Golf Course, which has an abundance of olive trees and well placed bunkers to make it a challenging course for players of all abilities. If that was not enough to tempt the golfers, within 5 mins drive there are two more! Las Ramblas which is a stunning, but short course and is most challenging. High trees, natural fairways and ravines feature strongly in this memorable course. Finally we have Compoamor, which is situated, in two valleys with magnificent views and with a beautiful clubhouse to finish off the day! For the hard to please a 30 mins drive further south will bring you to La Manga the world famous golf resort with three 18 hole courses to choose from, together with many other courses completing a golf valley on the Costa Blanca! It is important to bring your handicap card (just in case) as well as plenty of sunscreen! Information can be supplied for local booking agents for bookings if required.
