Peyia Village:
A traditional Cypriot village with an abundance of local restaurants/bars. A very friendly place with everything on your doorstep. I can advise you on local eateries. Coral Bay is 5 minutes drive and hosts lots of facilities for watersports, dining, nightlife etc.
Good roads exist to go through the spectacular hills of the Peyia forest and the vineyards of the Laona region - Kathikas is the local winery - through to Polis, the fishing village of Latchi, and the Baths of Aphrodite. Other cultural sites exist in the vicinity, for example the superb Paphos Mosaics down by the harbour in Paphos.
Paphos area:
Whatever you're looking for Paphos can offer it. Whether it is cultural, boat trips, beaches, water parks, go karting, shopping or simply relaxing with a beer down at the harbour or eating out that you are interested, in there is something for everyone.Aprhrodite Waterpark, Lempa Neolithic Village, Baths of Aphrodite, Tomb of the Kings, Akama Peninsula (accessed only by 4 wheel drive vehicle).Pafos waterpark is 20 minutes drive. Go-karting is 10 minutes. Horse-riding and trekking 5-10 minutes. Troodos mountains (touring and skiing) are about 1.5 hours drive. Pafos Town (shopping and touring) approx 15-20 minutes drive. The Tombs of the Kings are nearby, showing the burial chambers of some local prominent ancient Paphian citizens The Kikkos monastery is an easy drive away, or that of St Neophytos is just outside Paphos in the mountains
Mount Olympus & Golf courses:
Skiing
You can ski in the Troodos mountains, approx 1-1.5 hours from the Pafos area to the Troodos Mountains.This takes placeson the slopes of Mount Olympos (1951 metres), from the January to the end of March. The Cyprus Ski Club possesses four Ski lifts. Two of the lifts are installed on the North Face of Mount Olympos. One is 350 metres long and the other is 500 metres long. The other two ski-lifts - each 150 metres long - are installed at “Sun Valley” south of Olympos. For further information contact Cyprus Ski Club.
Golfing: 3 excellent golf courses nearby, all within a 40 minute drive: The Tsada Golf Club,(25 minutes) The Secret Valley Golf Club (35 minutes) is east of Paphos and lies within a scenic valley. Aphrodite Hills Golf Course (40 minutes) is also east of Paphos and is a championship standard course. Please book prior to arrival to avoid disappointment.
