Our fully renovated two bedroom cottage in the small hamlet of Genetouze - 6km from all amenities at St Leger sous Beauvray, which has Hotel/restaurant, mini market, pharmacy, boucherie and boulangerie and post office. The cottage is reputed to have been once the home of the notorious 'Bandit of Morvan'. Both bedrooms have double beds with duvets, additional fold away bed can be supplied if required. Kitchen with modern appliances, built in electric oven, calor gas hob, microwave, fridge, bread maker, slow-cooker. Salon area with original beamed ceiling, newly installed JOTUL wood stove - and original bread oven, two comfortable sofas, coffee table, CD player, armoire housing china, glasses etc and oak dining table and chairs for 6 persons. Bathroom has shower cubicle, vanity basin and heated towel rail, also houses the washing machine. Outside has delightful flower filled graveled courtyard garden with BBQ, seating and table for 6 plus additional seating in side and herb garden.

Cottage set within a small hamlet in the southern part of the Morvan Park, & the heart of Burgundy's vast wine growing region, where you can spend relaxing days sampling the local wine in glorious surroundings.The Morvan lakes allow for swimming, fishing, whitewater rafting and sailing, the surrounding countryside has many forest for walking, cycling, mountain biking, and hiking. The area is the home of Charollais beef, and the Burgundian snails and famous for wonderfully appetizing meals. Local sites include Mont Beauvray and Bibracte where archiological digs have been taking place for many years, Autun which has its Roman amphitheatre, temple to Janus, St Lazare cathedral, Musee Rolin and ramparts plus many wonderful restaurants serving local dishes. Autun also has two market days well worthy on visits to sample and purchase local cheeses and fresh produce. Within an hour's drive there are 3/4 golf courses, including 12 hole at Autun + many chateau within short driving distance.

Notes: Our cottage would be most suitable for two couples travelling together and families with no more than two children. Guests should be aware that the majority of the garden area is gravelled and may prove difficult for those with walking difficulties or for suitability of prams and push-chairs. The courtyard garden is a delightful place to enjoy al-fresco meals whilst enjoying the fabulous views towards Mont Beauvray and the considerable assortment of garden birds - also the various local birds of prey. The cottage is well equipped with plenty of china and glassware. All linen, towels, tea towels etc are provided during your stay please note we do supply towels for beach and request that you do not use house towels for this purpose. The clear night skies will also be a magnet to any budding astronomers when many constellations and satellites are quite clearly visible.

We spent a lovely week at this property. Whilst the pictures of this property are good, they don't do justice as to how lovely the property is -- beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated with wonderfull views. We especially loved the town of Autun and of course the wines of the area!
