A top floor, self catering apartment with stunning, unspoilt views of the La Chapelle valley within easy access of the Portes du Soleil area (one of the largest ski and snow boarding areas in Europe). The accommodation has been recently refurbished to include a modern, highly functional kitchen and oak parquet flooring throughout. The apartment comprises of a kitchen/ dining area, with seating for 6 people, that opens onto the sunny balcony, which offers amazing views of the surrounding area. The lounge is well defined and has comfortable furnishings giving a 'savoyard feel', which includes a TV and DVD player. There are 2 separate bedrooms (1 double and 1 with bunks) plus a further 2 beds. A bathroom with bath/ shower and a separate toilet complete the apartment. In addition to this, there is also a ski locker and covered private parking. Bed linen and towels can be provided, please ask for further details.

The apartment is situated between La Chapelle (1km away) and the historic village of Abondance with its ancient abbey (5 km away). The area is the perfect getaway for those looking for traditional french villages with all their charm and rustic appeal but with the added bonus of twenty first century amenities. It is ideal for both winter and summer holidays, with easy access to the Portes du Soleil area which has 650km of linked slopes for skiing, as well as some of the best hiking and mountain bike routes in the Alps. Access to the Portes du Soleil resorts can be reached by the Panthiaz lift which is 5 minutes by car or a free ski bus (with a pick up point 150m from the apartment, where you will also find a ski hire shop and a Pizzeria). In the nearby villages and towns there are numerous good bars, restaurants, shops, cinemas, pools and spas, as well as weekly markets which makes this the ideal location for all. Furthermore, Lake Geneva and Evian is only 25 minutes away too.

An enjoyable stay

A charming, comfortable, well kept apartment built within the roof space of a traditional alpine apartment building. Comfortable accomodation with space to relax and watch TV or play games before bed. A short drive to the local village of Abondance and the ski resort of La Chapelle, and only 15minutes to the village of Chatel. Given the location of the apartment a car is preferred but there is a local bus service. An excellent location to enjoy the skiing of this region. All this and a good quality Pizzeria only a short walk away.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers

This was a magical experience from the moment the owner contacted me. I was dealt with in a caring and efficient manner - excellent service. When I arrived at the apartment it was as it had been advertised. Very clean and tidy with excellent amenities. The apartment was warm and cosy and had stunning views of the mountains. It is an excellent situation for skiing, walking and generally enjoying a beautiful environment.

I recommend the apartment unreservedly and look forward to a return visit.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: Guests have commented on the ideal location of the apartment and many of the areas are within walking distance, especially in the summer. Our apartment, we feel, is ideal for both the winter and the summer. We are currently taking part in the Portes du Soleil multipass scheme, which will allow visitors to experience summer in the mountains for as little as 1 euro a day. This an all inclusive pass for ski lifts, tennis courts and swimming pools in the whole of the Portes du Soleil region.
