Situated in a big park (2000 sq metres) of a beautiful villa with swimming-pool, only 5 minutes walking to the centre of Barga, the cottage 'la limonaia' is in typical Tuscan style and is composed of: 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedded room, bathroom / shower, kitchen /eating area. Outside there is a big patio with table, chairs, sun beds and a barbecue. It has its independent entrance. The swimming-pool (shared with the villa owners) is 5x11 metres and has a big solarium with sun beds.

Our favourite destination in Tuscany

We stayed at La Limonaia for a week in July and have been coming here for the last 5 years for our holidays in Tuscany. The accommodation is charming and comfortable - located in the grounds of the family villa with independent access. There is a lovely swimming pool with views across to the surrounding mountains. What makes it special is the warm and welcoming Italian family atmosphere. Riccardo and his parents, Mario and Mariolina are superb hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Riccardo speaks English and has helped us sort out car problems, book concert tickets and dinner reservations. Every week Mario hosts a dinner which is great fun and a chance for all the guests to get together.

Barga is a short walk away and is a lovely old town with plenty of good bars and restaurants, great at festival time with live music in the piazzas. There are plenty of walks both short and long in the area and Riccardo will advise on these .We hired a car which enabled us to explore the numerous hill top villages and enjoy the mountains.
We also really enjoyed visiting Lucca - a beautiful city surrounded by medieval walls.
