avistock is located in the South West edge of Dartmoor National park and is surrounded by the natural beauty of rolling hills and rugged Tors. It is perfectly situated for walking and cycling due to Tavistock’s position between Dartmoor and the Tamar Valley and is also a great place to play golf, with four courses within a five mile radius, including Tavistock’s own course. Why not learn a new and exciting activity like sailing on the Tavy or horse riding on Dartmoor whilst on your hoilday? . Tavistock’s location on the Devon/Cornwall border means that it is ideal for exploring the region with some of the most famous attractions such as the Eden Project within easy driving distance. Although not by the coast, Tavistock is only a short journey from some of the South West’s most beautiful beaches and ports. Or if you prefer only a very short drive, the Tamar valley and of course Dartmoor are right on your doorstep where you can indulge in some of the most spectacular scenery

A spacious, detached Scandanavian-style lodge set within a quiet part of the holiday village. Set within 30 acres of woodland. Excellent onsite facilities including indoor/outdoor swimming pools, children's play area, fitness suite with sauna and a restaurant and bar. (Site facilities are closed annually from early January to Mid February). Communal car parking area. Private balcony area with outdoor furniture.

Tavistock’s most famous event is the fabulous week long Goose Fair, which takes place in October and dates back to the 12th Century. These days, visitors can expect to see over 250 stalls and sideshows from all over the country. for further information see our E-zine archives. Another feature in the Tavistock calendar is the Dickensian Christmas evenings in the square. Tavistock also holds many music events at 'The Wharf Arts and Entertainment Centre' as well as theatre and cinema shows, art gallery, piano bar and waterside bar and coffee shop. Nearby attractions include; Cotehele National Trust medieval house and gardens with superb collections of textiles, armour and furniture, set in extensive grounds with miles of riverside and woodland walks. St Mellion; one of Europe’s finest venues for golf and leisure; and Buckland Abbey, set in the beautiful Tavy valley and the home of Sir Frances Drake.
