Location: Plymouth in United Kingdom
Plymouth is a City steeped in a vast and rich history, and has been shaped by the events of the past.
It has been the home to Colonial Adventurers, is the place where the Pilgrim Fathers departed from, and due to its naval heritage, was a primary target for bombers during the Second World War.
In the 1086 Doomsday book, the area was recorded as “sudtone” (south farm), and over the years the farmland evolved into a fishing port around Sutton Harbour.
The area was officially granted town status in 1254 and trade flourished. Since then Plymouth has grown into a cosmopolitan city where an extraodinary blend of modern city chic meets with this historic seafaring port. There are several places of interest including The Hoe, The Mayflower Steps and The Barbican. You can also expect to find all the modern attractions of a thriving city including great shopping, fine restaurants, excellent theatres and a vibrant night life.
