In the heart of a delightful village, a recently restored house with a roof terrace enjoying panoramic views. On the ground floor there's a living room with an arch into a kitchen with modern appliances and a lovely old vaulted ceiling. As well a comfortable sofa and armchair, there's a choice of tables for dining. On the first floor there's a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower and loo. Between them the landing has a fully stocked book case. There's a further bedroom on the second floor, plus another loo and a utility room with washing machine, second fridge and microwave. From the utility room there are steep steps up to the roof terrace with views across the village and to the hills and coast beyond.

LLauro is a charming village in the foothills of the Pyrenees between the mountains and the Mediterranean. With a population of about 300, there's a church, shop, school and post office. Supermarkets, restaurants and bars can be found 15 minutes away in the delightful town of Ceret which also has a museum of modern art including work by Picasso who once lived there. There are some fine beaches within 45 minutes of the house (St Cyprien, Le Racou) and a very pleasant lake at St Jean Pla de Corts where you can swim and picnic on grassy banks under the trees. Spain is within easy reach (the border 30 mins, *Girona/Costa Brava under 2 hours, *Barcelona 2 hours) and the hills and vineyards around the village offer plenty of scope to explore by bike or on foot. Perpignan, about 40 minutes away, is a small but vibrant city and *Toulouse,*Carcassonne, *Montpelier are less than 3 hours distant. * All have airports.
