Le Moulin du Temple has been renovated to provide comfortable living accommodation for up to 4 people. The setting is deep in the countryside off a quiet country lane. You will wake up each morning to birdsong, and go to sleep each night in absolute rural peace. Upstairs there are 2 light and airy bedrooms, 1 with double bed, the other with 2 singles, and a small bathroom comprising bath with shower over, washbasin and loo. Downstairs the open plan lounge/diner includes 2 sofas, a log burning fire and DVD player. A flexible dining area can accommodate up to 6 people. The fitted kitchen incorporates a fan oven, microwave, hob, toaster, kettle and fridge. The utility room houses a washing machine, dishwasher and freezer. A store room contains 2 adult bikes plus a paddling pool and other kids' games. The large west-facing garden includes a patio, lawn and mature trees and shrubs. There are tables and chairs to enjoy al fresco meals in the setting sun. A holiday here is simply blissful!

Le Moulin du Temple is a charming stone cottage in a peaceful rural setting situated outside the village of Planquery, 2km from the town of Balleroy and 17km from historic Bayeux. The surrounding district invites walking and bike riding (2 bikes provided) to explore the countryside and the Forest of Cerisy, just 3km away. Take a 2-minute drive, or 10-minute walk to Planquery Pools which boasts fishing pools, tennis courts, a bar/grill and a play area. 5 minutes' drive into Balleroy you will find the famous Chateau with its hot air balloon museum, shop and tearoom, as well as bakeries, bars and shops in the town itself. The city of Bayeux with its cathedral, restaurants, market, boutiques and hypermarkets is well worth a visit. The Normandy beaches famed for the D-Day landings, but now a great place on a summer's day, are only 25km away, with lots of war museums nearby for rainy days. The historic city of Caen is just 30 mins and Mont St Michel is 1 hour away for a day trip.

  • During rental periods charged at £300, the rate is exclusive of electricity. A meter reading will be taken with you on arrival and again on departure. Electricity is charged at the prevailing EDF rate per unit (this is currently 0.08euros) to be paid in cash in euros on departure. At all other times the rental rate is inclusive of electricity.
  • A deposit of £100 per week booked is payable to secure your booking. The remainder is due no later than 30 days before the start date of your holiday. A discount may be available for paying in full on booking - please ask for details.

If country living in Normandy is your wish then look no further, this is the place to rent. This cottage is as good as it looks, it's very comfortable and the layout is excellent. Downstairs you have a living room with fireplace and two comfortable couches. A dining area with table and chairs, a very good kitchen with all of the required items and a bathroom. Upstairs there are two bedrooms at each end of the hallway with the bathroom in between, both room are spacious.

The discription on the website was very accurate and the cottage was spotlessly clean. The owner lives nearby and was extremely helpful and very friendly. Language was not a problem since the owner was English. I would recommend this property to all of my friends and family.

There are many places to visit in the immediate area and the amount of history is overwhelming. There is a small town nearby for bread, pastry, meat and other essential items. Bayeux is 20 kilometers from the cottage and a very easy ride. There are numerous restaurants in the town and plenty of stores to shop in and buy all of those essential gifts. Many of the areas attractions are less then an hour from the cottage, Mont St Michelle, all of the D-day beaches, Caen and Bayeux. Caen is a large town with the war museum, cathedral and many other attractions. The regional foods and seafood were the best (mussels & snails). One of the best restaurants in Bayeux was the Bistro Paris in the upper square also on the road to Bayeux from the cottage was a truck stop restaurant with excellent food and good service. The people in Normandy were some of the most friendly and engaging I've ever met.
