Several well-equipped apartments and studios in Balkan Heights Resort, Bansko, are available. They have fully-equipped kitchens. Balkan Heights is situated on St Ivan hill south of Bansko. There is a free shuttle bus to the Ski Gondola Station. Bansko is a ski resort in the winter and an emerging golf resort in the summer. There are numerous traditional mehanas (taverns) in the Old Town. Guests can receive tourist advice at the Hotel Reception. The hotel apartments feature fully-equipped kitchens and balconies – perfect for a sunny breakfast. There is a mini-market nearby for buying supplies. Guests can dine and enjoy select Bulgarian wines in the restaurant with its blazing log-fire. Coffee, beer and other refreshments are provided in the stylish Lobby Bar. Spa facilities are available including swimming-pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and fitness centre. All apartments are equipped with free satellite TV. Free WiFi Internet is provided in the Lobby Bar.

The historic town of Bansko is situated in the Southwest of Bulgaria in the foothills of the beautiful Mount Pirin. The mountain's twin peaks soar to over 2900 m and it is an area of breathtaking alpine beauty. Bansko's emergence as an international ski resort owes much to its good snow record and excellent ski runs, catering for skiers of all standards, from beginners to experts, in a season that lasts from December to April. The town's historic ambience blends perfectly with the facilities of a modern ski resort. The local ski school is excellent and ski rentals and 24-hour emergency services are readily available. Apres ski in the taverns and restaurants of the Old Town offers the opportunity to enjoy the local cuisine and culture. Discos and nightclubs are all part of the local scene. Prices are about 30% of ski resorts in France, Austria and Switzerland.

We can advise about cheap options for the connection from Sofia Airport to Balkan Heights. Flight Information: It is possible to get direct flights to Bulgaria from most major airports in the UK. The approximate cost for a direct flight is around 180 Euros for the national carriers and as low as 27 pounds for the Budget airlines. Ski Information: The ski season in Bansko start in mid-December and runs through to mid-April. A weekly ski pass will cost 144 euros and ski / board rental costs 15 euros a day. Ski lessons can be arranged for 10 euros an hour.
