Winter downhill skiing & other activities:
Perfect for skiing & winter sports: For skiers there is something for the whole family and every ability, with a choice of three resorts right on your doorstep. Mikulov,CZ (10min) offers some excellent intermediate and advanced runs up to 2.5 km in length. South facing slopes, have fantastic views over the north of the Czech Republic and the slopes are relatively quiet with night skiing is also available on a 1km black run for the more adventurous.Restaurants are available and very reasonably priced. Its a 10 minute easy drive from the villa to the main lifts or we can arrange your transport for skiing. Beginners and children are ideally accommodated in the local German skiing-spa resort (7 min) with gentle inclines and good facilities and lifts for those more cautious skiers and beginners. All equipment can be hired at the resorts and is much cheaper compared to alpine resort prices (day ski pass 14Euro). Excellent cross country skiing routes also lead directly from the villa.
Cultural & sightseeing day trips:
Nearby Dresden is both a European high culture vulture paradise, with one of the most beautiful city centres of any European city, as well as, an easy going, friendly, English speaking shopping and cafe culture. Dresden is not only overflowing with beautiful palaces, gardens and buildings, but also plays host to wonderful open air concerts, opera & ballet performances all year round. Its’ surrounding areas contain one of Europe’s most rich cultural landscapes as once part of the summer/ winter residence scene of the Saxon nobility (one of the richest royal families in renaissance Europe) all within a 45minute and 45 km radius of the Villa.
Prague is the most well known local attraction. Just 90kms away and 1 hour by car Prague is easily one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. Alive with classical music concerts, amazing churches and overlooked by Europe’s largest castle complex, the ancient, cobbled, winding, medieval streets hold a secret around every corner.
Cultural & Sightseeing activities:
The Elbe valley meanders through stunning gorges and scenery from Dresden to Prague, through the Saxon and Czech Switzerland National parks just 25 minutes from the Villa. Along its banks discover historic, well preserved and presented royal fortresses (Konigstein), castles (Schloss Weesenstein, Schloss Moritzburg) palaces (Schloss and Park Pillnitz) and royal residences belonging to Saxon kings and Austrian-Hungarian Imperial Empire. Take a river cruise, (ranging from a couple of hours to all day cruises), or a leisurely, comfortable train, or even our chauffeur driven car and follow one of Europe’s longest, most beautiful and royal rivers from Dresden to Czech Switzerland, starting just minutes from the villa.
Other summer activities/facilities include excellent cycling routes and paths, clear blue swimming lakes, golf resorts (2 resorts within 10 minutes of the villa), walking and nature watching in the national parks, canoeing, river rafting, and lots more.

Its a 10 minute easy drive from the villa to the main lifts and the Villa's car can be arranged to take you to and from the slopes for a small daily charge. Beginners and children are ideally accommodated in the local German skiing-spa resort (7 min) with gentle inclines and good facilities and lifts for those more cautious skiers and beginners. All equipment can be hired at the resorts and is much cheaper compared to alpine resort prices. A days skiing can cost as little as 13 Euros.
