The peaceful village of Munxar lies to the south of the island of Gozo. Munxar is very close to the capital Victoria and has a population of about 1019 people. This village offers spectacular imagery such as Xlendi valley, Ghancija valley and Bardan cliffs. Also worth mentioning are the remnants of a prehistoric temple at Ta' Marziena.
The Parish Church, a small baroque temple is dedicated to St. Paul. The village feast falls on the 10th of February which is also a public, national holiday. However the outside festivities are celebrated on the third Sunday of each May. A swift ten-minute country walk along Ras il-Bajjada Road or Victoria Road takes you to Xlendi Bay, a very popular tourist resort. Wedged between majestic cliffs, this fishing village is one of the most picturesque spots on the island.
