The Delta del Ebro ( 30 minutes drive away ) is of 32,000 hectares, the second largest marshland in Europe after the Carmargue in France. Most of the area is devoted to rice cultivation which is of huge importance for resting and feeding waders and herons. There are conservation areas with lagoons & reedbeds occupying a major part of the delta. We are half way between Barcelona and Valencia (2 hours away) just 10 minutes from exit 40 on the AP7 motorway that runs from France to Andalusia. Tortosa is 20 minutes away, the capital of Lower Ebro hosting the Renaissance festival at the end of July and the Cinta festival in mid September. Els Ports nature park, Terra Alta province and of course beaches are also closeby.
