Photos and Description of this Samoens holiday apartment Samoens, well equipped apartment, close to village, sleeps 4-6, two balconies.

Built in 2002, our family owned apartment is situated in a quiet part of the village yet is only 2-3 minutes walk to all the village amenities. It is comfortably furnished & well equipped for 6 people & includes a travel cot & high chair. The spacious living/dining room leads out to the large south west facing balcony furnished with chairs, table & umbrella from which to enjoy the amazing mountain views & 'al-fresco' meals. The corner kitchen has a dish-washer, oven, hob, fridge/freezer & microwave. The apartment sleeps 6, having one double room with a king sized bed, a smaller room with two singles & a sofa bed in the living room.The bathroom has a shower, vanity unit & washing machine whilst a separate w.c. has a hand basin. There is ample parking around the property & also we have a designated ski locker. The ski bus to the Grand Massif Express stops at 50m accessing 265kms of piste suitable for all standards. Samoens is an attractive, historic, former stone-masons village with plenty to see and do all the year round. Our apartment is only 2-3 minutes walk to the shops, restaurants, cinema, ice-rink etc yet is in a quiet area of the village. The Grand Massif Express ski lift is just 900m away or 5 mins in the free ski bus which stops 50m from the apartment. The Grand Massif ski area consists of 5 linked areas totaling 265km of piste suitable for all levels of skiers and boarders. The summer abounds with almost every activity you can think of, parapenting, rafting, mountain biking, hiking and swimming to name but a few. A large park, on the edge of the village, offers putting, archery, golf driving range, tennis and open air swimming pools. The Indiana Parc here is a great climbing and swinging activity for the young and 'young at heart'. Visits to Chamonix, Annecy, Lake Geneva and trips into Switzerland and Italy are easily possible and the weekly market at Samoens is a 'must'

  • For our European guests payment in Euros is fine.
    The rental rate includes water, electricity and linen service (i.e. beds made up prior to arrival) but excludes towels.
    A refundable key/ security deposit of £150 is required at the time of booking to reserve the property. This is refunded once the key has been returned to us and our property managers in Samoens have confirmed that all is in order.
    The full cost of your booking is due 6 weeks before your departure date.
    The property will be cleaned and made ready for each client and we would appreciate it if clients could leave it clean and tidy at the end of their stay.
  • Short breaks are available in January and March (min 4 nights)

Ideal appartment for a family holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment last year. It is beautifully clean and maintained to a high standard. It is well furnished and fully equipped for a family. The beds are most comfortable and even the sofa bed was declared 'very comfy'. It would be spacious for four but, due to the logical layout, even the six of us felt we had enough room. There was also a ski store in the basement.
Very convenient for the town centre, shops and resturants. Only a five minute walk to the ski bus stop.
Booking was easy and the owners most helpful. There was good local information provided, including practical points like where to get a take-away pizza.
The listing was accurate and we would wholeheartedly recommend this appartment to relatives or friends.
It is an ideal base for a ski-ing holiday and we can't wait to go back again next year!

Highly recommended for Samoens holidays

We first enjoyed holidaying in this spacious apartment in Samoens four years ago and we have returned to it each summer since then. It continues to meet all our requirements for convenience, comfort, character, charm and cost. It is tastefully furnished and decorated and generously provided with all the mod cons and services for convenient self-catering and comfortable living. All the rooms are well-proportioned and of more than adequate size. The lounge/dining area is particularly large and is fitted with colourful furniture that positively encourages relaxation. After an active day the comfortable beds also always assure us of a good, relaxing night’s sleep! We can positively say that the owners’ description of the apartment is not overstated in any respect.

This second “etage” apartment (well-served by a quiet, sizeable lift set only a few paces from the entrance door) is within short, easy walking distance to the village shops, cafes, restaurants, entertainment and other services. The owners have provided a lot of useful information and comment on these and other facilities in the wider area.

Les Grandes Alpes overall is constructed in chalet style. This particular apartment has two substantial balconies giving stunning views of the Criou and pastures on the east side and across to the near-distant mountains on the west side. That balcony has lots of space to enjoy a relaxing evening meal and bottle of wine and is equipped with a large table and chairs to do so.

Whilst this apartment may be seen as a base for skiers we can strongly recommend it for a summer holiday as well. Samoens is an excellent holiday base for children and adults alike for it provides a very wide range of both leisurely and physical activity. The Syndicat d’Initiative organises a wealth of interesting entertainment opportunities – concerts, artisan markets, children’s shows, etc. – during July and August. We unreservedly recommend this apartment to anyone. The owners use it themselves and must be paying close attention to maintaining the property and its facilities in excellent order.
