This part of Provence is particularly agreeable off season. Clement temperatures with blue skies , sunshine, bathe the country side with an indefinable light so dear to so many famous artists.
Uzès is a real 'pearl'; tiny streets harbouring magnificent renaissance architecture meander around the Place aux Herbes famous for its bustling Saturday market, surely one of the prettiest in France and a real pleasure for the eyes and of course for the gourmets ! A great choice of bistros and gastronomic restaurants are to be found close at hand as well as a wonderful choice of shops providing all local specialities, cheese, fruit and vegetables and of course many wine cellars for tasting !
At the end of January is the Truffle festival in Uzès, the whole town is devoted to the black diamond, kilos for sale on the market place , demonstrations of truffle hunting and all the restaurants proposing a special truffle menu - an unique experience !There are a multitude of things to do and see in the region of Uzes.
Very well situated for all the cultural events during the summer, dance and music festivals in Uzes itself, plus those of Nimes and of course the wonderful open air festivals in Orange and Vaison La Romaine
