The Madeira Region:

Madeira (Wood) is a beautiful verdant island. It is Portugal's 'Jewel in the Atlantic'. The island is a haven for anyone who enjoys walking, whether your taste runs to gentle strolls or hard core hiking. Madeira’s system of irrigation channels, known as levadas, carry water down from the mountains on gentle gradients. These levadas provide a ready-made system of trails. There are 1300 miles of them, crisscrossing the island, and they have level footpaths running along their entire length.
Santa Cruz:
Santa Cruz is a beautiful city situated on the sunny south slope of the fantastic island of Madeira.
The region was the first to be discovered, and there will soon derived from the early name for these browsers have, about old stumps knocked out, made a cross and hung it on a tree. It was the place of the Holy Cross.
The county of Santa Cruz hosts on its territory the Desert Islands, part of the archipelago.
Today a well-developed region, Santa Cruz still retaining its agricultural and fishing, enjoying the best that the rich soil and sea offer, although the region have developed over time various industries, many services and, of course, a Tourism booming, reaching the county airport of Madeira.
you can find bathing areas in Santa Cruz as rocky Praia das Palmeiras ,a new bathing complex near Ribeira da Boaventura with swimming pools, and a water fun park 'Aquaparque'.
How to get there:
Transfer to and from the airport can be arranged by us. Once you have cleared customs & collected your luggage, you will be met by your driver in the arrivals hall. Payment can be made direct to the driver. The charge is €20.00 each way.
Golf:
Golfers will be pleased to know that the new 18-hole Palheiro golf course is no more than a 20 minute drive. Classic Madeiran hills, ridges and deep valleys have all been incorporated into the terrain to produce a dramatically interesting course, with stunning views. The spectacular 27-hole Santo da Serra golf course (also known as Campo de Golfe and home to the Madeira Island Open) is also within easy reach. This is Madeira’s oldest golf course. It sits high up on a plateau and is marvellous scenic with inspirational views back up the mountains and out over the Atlantic below
