Villa 'La Colombe' is a second home for its owners and has a charming relaxed atmosphere all of its own. The villa faces South-East and provides a suitable combination of sun and shade. To the rear of the villa is a forest. It is built on raised ground and has a view to the front across a valley. It is accessed by a quiet road which has very little traffic. It is located 2 minutes by car or a 7 minute walk from the centre of the small medieval Provencal town of Figanières. The village is very attractive and has bakeries, a post office, a chemist, small supermarkets, newsagent, butcher etc. The house is ten minutes drive from other close charming towns like Chateaudouble and La Motte - with its golf course. The property is enclosed by hedges. It includes a 'professional' table football and a protected trampoline. The pool is right beside the house and is consequently unsuitable for very young non swimming children. It has a very spacious kitchen fitted 2004.

Figanieres is a charming old village that has kept the style over the years. With three fountains where people come to collect their drinking water from the neighbouring villages. It has no restaurant, and so it is not invaded by too many tourist in the high summer season. Near the house is the Gorge de Chateaudouble, where is a very quaint village with two friendly restaurants. There is also a river nearby where one can swim in its fresh/cool waters. The beach of St Maxim is about 40 mins drive, and there is the Gorge de Verdun, lake St Croix also about the same distance to do canoeing. The house is located near the vines.

  • To secure a reservation a rental agreement will be sent to the future tenants and a payment is required which is 50% of the total of the rent. Full balance and the damage deposit of Euros 500 is due 8 weeks before the start of the holiday.
    •Rates include all linen and towels for use in the villa, cleaning of the pool weekly and all electricity charges.
    The villa will be handed over spotlessly clean and guests are expected to pay Eur 40 for the final cleaning.

The house has two double bedrooms and a third with two bunk beds (ie 4 beds) which are solid and suitable for teenagers. The pool is very close to the house so guests should all be able to swim. A pool alarm is fitted in compliance with legal requirements. The house has three good size bathrooms - 2 ensuite. All mattresses are new. Kitchen is large, fully equipped having been installed in 2004. Entertainment is an eclectic record collection, DVD player, Hi Fi, badminton net, table football, books to read, games to play and shooting star gazing. Tennis courts can be rented in the village. Swimming in the sea (40 minutes drive) or lake (45 minutes drive). 10 minutes drive from the house there is a beautiful river for cooling on very hot summer days. There are a large number of wineries in the vicinity where wine can be sampled and purchased. Cistercian abbey at Le Thornet (30 minutes drive), provencal markets, particularly at Le Muy (20 minutes drive)
