Although newly built this year Maison Vue Des Iles has the character and appearance of a traditional plantation property. The private drive is gated and the gardens have a fine collection of tropical plants. Behind the house is a wind-cut granite outcrop covered in Bourgainvilla. The interior is a real contrast, the decor is a modern take on colonial style, with white walls and sofas softened by wooden floors and furniture, a mezzanine level doesn't obstruct a view upwards 30ft to the rafters. There are huge oil paintings by local artists to provide colour, none however can compete with the vivid turquoise of the sea that can be seen straight ahead through the folding veranda doors. Stepping through is breathtaking, locals believe there is no more beautiful spot on what is a tropical island paradise. There is a range cooker, giant american fridge, hi fi, laundry and library. Most of your time will be spent outside, either in the ocean or looking at it from the sundeck or veranda.

Maison Vue Des Iles stands at the end of a private drive and just 12 metres from the Indian Ocean; just below the house lies a small beach to which the house has its own access. Immediately off shore is a shallow reef and the tiny island of Ile Malice, there are few better snorkelling spots in all of the Seychelles. The property derives its name from the collection of tropical islands which are the focal point of the stunning view from the balcony and sundeck. Anse La Blague is a quiet village with a small shop, bus stop and beach bar situated on a fabulous, calm white sand beach washed by turquoise waves. Praslin boasts some of the most incredible beaches on Earth, plus a world heritage site The Valley De Mai once thought to be the original Garden of Eden. There are also excellent diving, snorkelling, hill walking, mountain biking, game-fishing and island hopping opportunities as well as a championship golf course at the 5 * Lemuria Hotel. All this and the Creole cuisine is amazing!

  • A 20% deposit is taken at the time of booking with the balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to commencement.
    At the same time a damage/breakages deposit,usually in the form of a crossed cheque, is taken to the value of £500. This is not cashed and only used if major damage is caused - the odd glass etc is by the by.
  • The rental amounts shown are inclusive of taxi transfers to and from Ile de Palme Airport, Praslin.
    Also inclusive af twice weekly maid service and the support of an on-call House Manager. Additional maid service can be charged seperately.
  • Additional items in the form of Chef Service and twin-engined fishing/day boat and Skipper are chargeable seperately, rates vary according to food and time/distances travelled but are in every event considerably cheaper than any commercial equivalent on the island.

  • The Master bedroom enjoys access onto the huge veranda and also onto a small private side balcony. Bedroom 2, also downstairs, has a bathroom across a small hallway. As with the master bedroom there are folding doors onto the veranda and a side balcony. Both bedrooms have a ceiling fan as well as air-conditioning. The mezanine, when required, serves as a large additional bedroom with wardrobe and a comfortable sofa bed, (folding bed and airbed also available). The mezanine is many guests favourite room due to the sense of space and the amazing panoramic ocean views from the balcony. It also has a library of books and DVDs as well as a comfortable reading area.

Notes: Maison Vue Des Iles is on land that slopes steeply down to the small beach, and has terracing and steps. This means that children will need close supervision. The house is wooden and thatched and so the no smoking requirement is as much about guest safety as it is about personal preferences. Praslin is the ultimate destination for anyone wanting to visit a tropical paradise that also has local life and culture. The chef and boat skipper are Praslinoise, who speak French, English and Creole. The House Manager can arrange trips, diving and restaurant bookings and also arrange for the use of the chef and boat. Chef sevice is at a fraction of the cost of restaurant meals and every bit as wonderful. The boat is twin-engined and ideal for fishing, island-hopping and snorkelling. Again the cost is very much lower than that charged by local operators. Our only neighbour is the celebrated local artist and musician Raymond Du Buisson. Ray has a young son, Antoine, and two freindly dogs.
