The pretty tranquil wine-growing village of Armissan is nestled in the regional park. You can walk and mountain bike directly from the villa across the garrigue, pine forests and vineyards. From the top of the massif there are spectacular mountain and sea views. The sandy white beaches are a 10min drive away where attractions include restaurants, shops, water-sports, water-park, go-karting and horse-riding. A short drive inland is the Roman town of Narbonne with its famed Le Halle food market, beautiful canal du Robin and imposing 11th Century cathedral. There is also a large out of town shopping complex with hypermarket, sports and clothes shops. A range of day trips could include exploring the Cathar castles, wine-tasting around the local domaines, walking in the Pyrennees, visiting the Safari Park. A wide range of outdoor sporting activities are available in the area, including golf, tennis, white-water rafting, canoeing, aerial adventure park.
