How to get to Casa Micadan and When to come:
Malaga airport is only a 40 minute drive to Casa Micadan. A number of budget airlines fly to Malaga from the UK so often there are excellent deals to be had. These include the following: Easyjet, bmibaby and monarch airlines.
It is easy to rent a car at the airport – you can book your car online and pay for it on arrival.
When to come to Casa Micadan - Anytime as Frigiliana enjoys a mild climate all year long with an average temperature of 18 degrees. Winters are mild, rainfall is low and the summers warm. Nerja’s calendar is full of festivals all year round - the biggest of which is in October when street parties abound for a four day party. During winter the populations of Nerja and Frigiliana shrink so its an ideal time to come and escape the harsh British winter. Winter also brings the opportunity to ski in the morning in the Sierra Nevada’s and sunbath at Casa Michadan in the afternoon. If the evenings are chilly enjoy your Spanish wine in front of the log fire.
Things to do:
There is great walking in the national park and it is possible to do several walks from Casa Micadan itself. Instructions for these can be found at the villa. There are also two excellent restaurants within walking distance of the villa - Los Caracoles and La Venta - both sere good food and have amazing views
The beautiful village of Frigiliana is 3.5km away with a good selection of restaurants, shops and bars. Small plazas provide shady seating while the village bars are popular with visitors tasting local wine.Frigiliana has a small museum, a local swimming pool and gym and for small children a popular playground. At festival time the village becomes even more enchanting. Nerja is a 10 min drive and has great beaches and seaside restaurants which cook enormous pans of paella and traditional stews. The seafood eateries in town are excellent. In the afternoon and evening the Balcony comes alive with street performers and horse drawn carts
Local Attractions:
Children can visit Nerja's world famous caves and the donkey sanctuary where its possible to adopt a donkey. There are considerable outdoor activities in the region like horse riding, golf, and water sports.
This versatile area of Spain also means that a sunshine break can be combined with a skiing trip to the Sierra Nevadas, a short 90 minute drive away. Then back to Casa Micadan to chill out and rest those aching bones.
In addition the historic cities of Granada (1.5 hrs away), Cordoba & Seville are all within easy reach of Casa Micadan. A variety of beaches & coves can be found all along the Costa del Sol & the Costa Tropical and the shopping centres of Torre del Mar & Velez Malaga are all within easy driving distance.
