This property is ideal for families and walkers alike. * The Villa has its own private, south facing, salt water swimming pool (9m x 4m) facing the sea, with patio bathing area tiled with special none slip tiles. There is an outside shower for use after swimming, sun beds, pool towels & umbrellas are provided. NB: Swimming Pool access is via steps down to the lower level. * The bedrooms are furnished with beds which have special matresses of high resilience foam and have machine washable covers. The property is situated in banana groves and built on the mountainside in a peaceful & tranquil hamlet. Founded in 1572, the parish of Arco da Calheta is set between the mountains, the configuration of which is a semi-circle. The arc like nature and its proximity to the parish of Calheta motivated the first settlers to call it Arco da Calheta (Calheta arch). After the discovery of the island this parish was one of the first to be submitted to huge agricultural explorations, giving origin to extensive lands with noble houses, chapels and cultivated areas. The busiest time of the year is the 7th and the 8th of September when the parish celebrates its annual procession and a fair to honour the patron saint São Braz.

Golf offer: If you would like to enjoy a round or two, or maybe even a week of golf whilst staying with us, we are able to offer you a 20% discount at the Palheiro golf course in Funchal. The following prices are available at the moment: 1 day’s golf - 77.50 Euros per person 3 days of golf plus green fees and a buggy is 268.50 Euros per person 5 days golf plus green fees and a buggy is 371 Euros per person. (all prices correct as printed on 22nd October 2009) Please add these as extras at the time of booking and we will make the arrangements at the golf course for you. It’s as simple as that. All you have to do is arrive at the course and enjoy your day.

We came back from Casa do Vista in Calheta a couple of weeks ago and wish we had never had to leave! The villa was lovely - clean, spacious, very well equipped for us and the kids and set in such an amazing location! The views were stunning and so peaceful. Pool area was lovely and relaxing and our two little girls (aged 2&3) loved it. I could have sat on the balcony looking at the views all day every day! The local taxi driver Nelson was fantastic and so helpful. He took us out to eat almost every night and regular trips to the beach and supermarket. Everything is close by, the sandy beach is the only one on the island and the girls loved it. Local cafes along the marina promenade were great and the supermarket stocked everything we needed. We've been looking for this holiday for years, staying at many differnet villa's, this one beats them all! We will definitely be going back as soon as we can!Thank you for a lovely time.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
