This comfortable house is renovated stone house, located in the little village of Srnegla, only 1 km away from Buzet, which is in the very north of Istria near the border with Slovenia. Buzet is widely known as the “City of Truffles” since the forests along the Mirna River are especially rich in this divine mushroom / tuber. According to some views, the white truffle of Istria is as good as the most famous white truffle from the Italian region of Alba. The house sleeps 6 persons. On the ground floor there is large living room, kitchen / dining room and toilette. On the first floor there are one double and one twin bedrooms, both with en-suite bathroom and terrace. There is also a junior suite in the former barn, which is attached to the main house. The owner offers 'honesty bar' in his cellar, from which you can sample and enjoy local wines and grappas.!! Villa Elena is amazing!

We stayed at Villa Elena over Christmas 2009. The house is beautifully done and decorated, with Robi's (owner) original paintings adorning the walls. The view of Buzet is amazing! The location is fantastic, being just minutes from Buzet, and about 10 minutes to Motovun. This area of Istria is so beautiful and I highly recommend a holiday here for anyone thinking about it. Robi and his family are great hosts. They make fantastic red and white wine, which was made available to us whenever we wanted it. We had a great time and would, without a doubt, refer friends and family to Villa Elena.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
