1 Bed Penthouse apartment 250m to beach, 2km from pretty fishing village of Makryiaglos, S. East Crete. Balconies to front & rear & one of only a few large roof gardens on the resort, with seating area, sunbeds, table & chairs etc. Good sized double bed, lots of fitted wardrobe space. Apartment has air conditioning, dishwasher, TV, DVD, fridge-freezer, cooker, microwave etc, all new, with solar glazed windows & mosquito nets, providing all that you need for a relaxing holiday or romantic break. We also have a sofa bed available. The Bay View Resort is very attractive with swimming pools & other facilities, creating a friendly, community feel. There is car parking & BBQ area to the rear of the apartment & all around are landscaped gardens with seating areas & a stone amphitheatre, with beautiful views of the sea & mountains. Makryiaglos means 'Long Beach' in Greek, the blue flag beach stretches for several kms past a small marina, tavernas, restaurants, shops, hotels, gym and spa.

14 P is a one bedroom penthouse apartment on the new Bay View Resort just outside the small fishing village of Makrygialos. The village has shops, restaurants and tavernas and a delightful marina, which is in regular use with the locals and tourists alike. The apartment has superb sea and mountain views and is just a short 250 m walk to the sandy beach. 14 P is fully furnished with modern appliances and necessary air-conditioning, with balconies to the front and rear and a large roof terrace overlooking the whole resort and nearest swimming pool. The area of Makrygialos is tranquil and authentic and whilst there are plenty of bars and tavernas, this is not the place for wild partygoers! The surrounding area is beautiful for walks, mountain-biking, hiking, fishing or rock climbing. Views are breathtaking all around this part of Crete and deserted beaches are easily found with delightful places to swim in the shallow warm sea.

What is there to do nearby?: Dependent upon your preferences, you can relax by the pool or on the roof garden, or take the short walk down to the beach. You can walk or drive to Makryiaglos and try out their 'long beach' or visit one of the many small restaurants along the shoreline or near the fishing port. There are a few lively bars and Tavernas in Makryiaglos in the evening, or you may chose to visit one of the many restaurants all within a few minutes of Bay View. Nearby towns of Sitia and Ierapetra can be reached within 30 mins and have shopping and nightlife to suit most tastes. The hills and mountains are beautiful and great for walking, cycling or climbing. You can go fishing, sailing, snorkelling, jet-skiing or play golf on the island, or just drive around exploring the many villages, towns, ancient ruins or beaches. You can take a ferry from Ierapetra to the beautiful unspoilt Chrissi Island, which is a tropical paradise. The Mikri Polis Hotel in the town has a gym, spa and restaurants available to use.

relaxing break

i stayed at bay view with my wife and had a lovely relaxing week. the weather was great and the staff on the site were very helpful and knowledgeable, i would definitely recommend to others.

the town of makriaglos is very welcoming with plenty of restaurants and places to sit and have a beer or coffee near the beach.

the apartment is modern and clean, tastefully decorated and had plenty of storeage space, the balcony is lovely in the morning, but hot in the afternoon. the roof top garden is superb and the views are magnificent.

we will go to bay view again next year, but this time with friends.

A great spot for a quiet and peaceful get-away

We spent a week in the Bayview Apartment and we had a lovely time. The facilities at the apartment are great - the kitchen has all that you need, the bathroom was compact but just what you needed. We had no issues with the management and the people at reception are always happy to help. The main room of the apartment has airconditioning so it is good if you want to escape from the heat. The pool at the complex was lovely and there are lots of beautiful beaches in the area. Some are easy to get to by foot and others are a five minute drive. The town of Makrigialos is a peaceful but vibrant town with plenty of lovely restaurants that look out over the sea. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely return to the area.

si quereis pasar unos dias tranquilos en una isla fantastica, aconsejo sin duda este apartamento, está totalmente equipado y todas sus instalaciones son nuevas y muy modernas. Cuenta con una magnifíca terraza donde es puede comer perfectamente. La limpieza impecable, y el trato por parte de los dueños fué totalmente perfecto. El apartamento está ubicado en una zona muy tranquila de la isla, pero sin duda encantadora.

Bayview August 2010

An excellent location in an unspoilt part of the island. A car is a necessity. The property was very comfortable with good facilities, was clean and well maintained and the air con was much appreciated after a day out in the heat. The pool and garden areas provided an attractive setting and the rooftop terrace gave us superb views of the surrounding area by day and the stars at night. An excellent service was provided by the management who were friendly and willing to offer information on the area. The beach in the resort was not over populated even in August and for the cost of a drink you can use the sunloungers and parasols provided by the beach bars. We enjoyed the local restaurants in particular Dragon's Cave, Porphyra and Kastro.

Great location on a new complex, Excellent standard of furnishings throughout with a roof terrace with great views of the surrounding area, The owner and on-site management were really helpful and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this.

The only minus point was the ongoing development of the next phase which was a nuisance rather than a major problem but given the stage it's at this will only be a short term issue.
Recommended for:  Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway
