Bella Vista Villa, Cortijo Grande

We stayed in this lovely villa in July/August 2009 for two weeks and loved every minute. Cortijo Grande is a fabulous, stunning area with breathtaking views. Having two keen golfers with us, Dad & Hubby, they were in heaven, either watching the golfers, from the glorious terrace, go by or catching a quick game themselves with us watching them go by! Location-wise it's perfect, just far enough up the mountains to have complete and utter peace and quiet, and just 5 minutes drive away from Turre with its shops, supermarkets, restaurants and weekly market. Turn right out of the villa and head further up the mountains to Cabrera where you will find two wonderful restaurants, one with absolutely stunning views back down the mountain, watching the sunset whilst sharing a bottle of wine or two! The other, Fatima's, was our favourite restaurant, excellent food, friendly faces, child-friendly and very welcoming.
The villa itself has everything you need to make it a comfortable, home-from-home holiday. It comfortably sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms, with much needed air conditioning in three of the rooms, although the fourth bedroom is off of the third and only has fans. Plenty of crisp, fresh linen and towels were supplied. There are fairly steep, marble stairs going down to the bedrooms on the ground floor and steps going down to the swimming pool from the terrace, so perhaps not the best villa for those with very young children.
John & Frances were perfect hosts, they are close enough to be with you in a flash if needs be and far enough away not to intrude. Any requests we had were dealt with immediately and they are always just a phone call away.
All in all, a brilliant holiday, our favourite part of Spain so far and we thoroughly recommend it.
Owner's Response: We always take heed of comments & accordingly we have now installed 2 child
gates, one at the top of the internal stairs leading down to the bedrooms &
the other at the top of the steps from the terrace down to the pool.
