Around Les Blancs:
There is plenty to do at Reguiny, which is only 5 minutes down the road. You can take a leisurely stroll with the family around the beautiful lake, visit the first world war museum (where you will get your own friendly guide to show you around), swim in the 25 metre open air pool, or play tennis on the well kept tennis courts.
If you want to eat out, try the restaurant in Le Bretagne Hotel which is open every day. If the family enjoys takeaway pizzas, La Campanella can be recommended. It also has a very comprehensive menu for eating in.
Radenac (5mins) has a very popular creperie. Once you have tasted the crepes at Chez Bido you may be compelled to return!
At Radenac there are tennis courts (free of charge) which are within a large sports area. This is also the venue for 'jeux sans frontieres', the annual inter village competition.
As well as the local bakeries, where you can buy your daily baguettes, Reguiny has a large supermarket with everything you should need,

At medieval Josselin you will find a magnificent chateau towering above the lovely Nantes Brest Canal. Further into the 'Petite Cite De Charactere' are lots of attractive shops and restaurants which are very popular with locals and tourists alike.
The area around Les Blancs is ideal for walking and cycling with the family. The Nantes-Brest Canal with its picturesque locks, canalside bars and creperies is only 10 minutes by car.
Our closest larger towns are Josselin and Pontivy which both have magnificent chateaux.
Lac au Duc at Ploermel and the historic towns Locmine and Lizio are also an easy drive from the holiday cottage.
A few minutes drive away is the N24 to Rennes, Vannes and the beautiful southern Brittany beaches of Carnac and Quiberon.

Morbihan:
In about an hour you could be relaxing with the family on Carnac Plage, or visiting the 'standing stones' of Carnac, enjoying a meal in one of the lovely harbour side cafes at Lorient or Auray (45 mins).
In Breton the name Morbihan means 'little sea' which aptly describes the Golfe du Morbihan. This is a must for anyone visiting the southern part of Brittany, with historic Vannes (only 30 mins away) at its head. Little motor boats called 'vedettes' will take you on a magical tour around the islands of the gulf.
If you prefer a shorter drive then try the Lac au Duc at Ploermel (25 mins), where there is a sandy beach (with plenty of shady spots), and water sports such as windsurfing or boating.
The Lorient Festival is one of the highlights of the summer season and is highly recommended for the early part of August. For several days and nights the streets of Lorient are filled with hundreds of people. There is live folk music, dancing and colourful stalls selling everything Breton.
