The village of Marden is eight miles (13km) from the county town of Maidstone. The parish church was built at the end of the 12th century. Marden is in the middle of the rich farmland of the weald, and has many orchards, coast houses and period buildings surrounding the village.
The rural village has a few shops and amenities including, hairdressers, barbers, general stores, post office, country pubs, butchers, chemist, bakery, several restaurants and take-aways.
