This superb house, originally dating back to the 12th century, has been beautifully and sympathetically restored by the owners. There is an excellent large kitchen and cave area, a wonderfully spacious lounge and wooden beams throughout. Set in 7 hectares of meadow (approx. 17 acres), bordered by a stream and trees, it is within walking distance of the River Dordogne and 5 minutes drive to canoe rental for exploring one of the most beautiful rivers in France. The charming medieval town of Martel, with its twice-weekly traditional covered market, is close by, as are some of the best regional restaurants in the surrounding villages and towns. It is a most attractive and unusual house, the rooms are long and spacious and, although having only 2 double bedrooms (situated on the second floor) areas on the ground and first floors can be discreetly screened off to provide extra sleeping accommodation on comfortable double sofa beds with bathrooms and WCs on each floor.
