Furnished to a very high standard, this light, airy apartment comprises a double bedroom, a twin bedroom (which can convert to a double) plus a sofa bed (which converts into a reboust sprung double bed) in the living area, a separate bathroom and a WC. The open plan lounge/dining room has a modern, stylish kitchen and two balconies (one with evening sun and views of Mont Blanc) containing chairs and a barbeque. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher and the lounge has a TV with UK Sky Freeview, DVD and CD Stereo. There is also broadband WiFi Internet access. Available all year round, It has parking and ski/bike cellar with a washing machine.

Chamonix is a renowned skiing and snowboarding area iin the heart of the French Alps. As well as winter sports, Chamonix boasts some of the best summer sporting activities such as climbing, mountain biking, white-water rafting, paragliding, mountaineering and golf.

Situated on three national borders, the Mont-Blanc Massif is protected jointly by France, Switzerland and Italy. Plans are currently underway to have Mont-Blanc listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.

Chamonix is a town where charm and tradition share the scene with modern resort facilities. The architectural heritage has been preserved, giving a unique atmosphere to the resort. Traditional village hamlets are located up and down the 23 km Chamonix valley.

Chamonix is truly an all year round resort, where you’ll find many of the 100 shops open ‘out of season’. During the winter it is famed for its diverse skiing, particularly off-piste (e.g. Vallee Blance), with 90% of its three resorts above 2,000 metres. While in the summer extreme sport enthusiasts turn their attention to mountaineering, given that Mont- Blanc is the highest mountain in Europe at 4,810 m.

Entertainment and events are in abundance in Chamonix and the surrounding areas.

Why we have Barrats A:

We purchased this apartment with the intention of retiring here one day. Everything from appliances to light switches are the kind you would feel happy with using on a daily basis, with a touch of sophistication. We are hands-on owners and visit a few times a year to keep everything new, fresh, and upgraded. We replace items regularly and add amenities. We have included loads of little extras you often don't find in rental properties to make this your best vacation possible. We hope we have touches that will make you feel at home and in the lap of luxury. We'd love you to come here for one holiday, then return for every vacation.

Ski:

Chamonix is one of the world's most famous ski areas, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels are well-served in a variety of differing areas around Chamonix, including Brevent, Flegere, the famous Grands Montets and Domaine du Balme. The Mont Blanc pass also covers nearby areas including Les Houches, St Gervais, Megeve, Courmayeur and Les Contamines, all within an easy drive. Slightly further afield, but within an hour's drive are Verbier, La Thuile, Flaine and Les Carroz. Despite its reputation as an area for experts only, there are plenty of green, blue and red runs to satisfy beginners and intermediates alike. For the more experienced, Chamonix has miles and miles of adventurous off-piste, including the famous Vallee Blanche, an 18km experience from the Aiguille du Midi down to the town.

Comfortable home away from home with amazing views

The view from the apartment made our stay in Chamonix most memorable. It was great being able to sit on the balcony in the fresh air looking up at Mont Blanc. We also appreciated the english cable as it was nice to zone out in front of the tv occassionly (which we had not had so far on our holiday). The information booklet and pamplets were really helpful with planning for things to do. We loved being able to cook the wonderful food in France and the kitchen was clean and well equipped. My only complaint was with the cot which we had paid extra for. The base wouldn't sit flat and was 10cm too short so there was a huge gap which is considered extremely dangerous in Australia as a suffocation hazard for smaller children. Luckily our child is a bit older so she managed to sleep ok at the 'good' end. Also the neighbour next door seemed to have their tv very loud at night but we couldn't hear this when in the bedroom with the door closed. I would certainly stay here again if visiting Chamonix, it's a nice 15min walk to the centre and is situated in such a peaceful and relaxing location it made Chamonix one of the highlights of our holiday.

Great view over Mt Blanc

Located in a quiet part and still nearby the centre of Chamonix this appartement is a great place for 4 grown ups.
We had a marvellous week with fine support from the local Mountain Base. Parking for the car in sight from the balcony made it possible to leave expensive ski outfit in the car.
The app is nice with care of the details in furniture specially when you are from Sweden and likes IKEA stuff.
We can recommend it to any to our friends and you bet we will!

Great apartment!!

Couldn't fault the apartment - it was exactly as it looks on the internet - clean, airy well equipped and laid out. In a great location - lovely and quiet with a great view of a glacier, but only a couple of minutes walk to the centre of Chamonix. A great information folder too containing everything you need to know. We are hoping to return!
