Formerly a wine domain the barn has been tastefully and sympathetically renovated. In the heart of wine growing region of the Corbieres this is a great opportunity for wine lovers to hunt out the best wines. Perfect for exploring the Cathar regions and its splendid castles and abbeys it is also a 30 min drive from the Mediterranean beaches, and close to a number of stunning rivers and lakes. Situated in between the beautiful medieval city of Carcassonne and Roman Narbonne, and a 10 min drive from the Canal du Midi. During the summer months there is an abundance of festivals and something to do for everyone in the family. The African Reserve park is 40 min drive. Why not visit the tree top adventure park near Carcassonne. Kayak in the Black Mountains, graze at gastronomic markets!, or just laze around the gorgeous pool. In the winter months the Pyrennees offer fantastic skiing just a couple of hours drive away.

Ferrals les Corbieres is perfectly situated near a motorway exit (but not within sight or hearing) and central to many famous and historic places, Carcassonne, Narbonne, Lagrasse, Canal du Midi and Abbey de Fontfroid to name a few. Only 30 minutes from the beautiful clean long Mediterranean beaches and even nearer to rivers and lakes where there is plenty of fishing or swimming. Walkers will love the nearby pine forests, cyclists will love the long clear roads, wine lovers will love the whole region! There are two supermarkets only a 5 minute drive away and the nearby town of Lezignan buzzes with its weekly market and bustling cafes and restaurants. Foodies are in for a treat.

  • There is a heating supplement of 50 Euros per week in the colder months and a small supplement will be charged for any extra beds required. Long-term lets are also considered.

    A 300 Euro cash deposit is payable on arrival, which is refunded soon after your departure.

Notes: With lots of attention to detail, a love of working with recyclable materials and sourcing as much of the wood and stone that was on the property as possible, Simon and Honor have lovingly renovated and restored the barn to become a welcoming, and luxurious apartment, in keeping with the style of the original buildings. The Gite is spacious, comfortably furnished and well equipped (with the requisite satellite TV and DVD - there is an extensive DVD library available to borrow) It is stylishly decorated and presented with modern fittings and local antiques. The atmosphere is very relaxed and family orientated but also perfect for couples holidaying with infants! Ferrals Les Corbieres is central to so many beautiful places of interest both historic, or natural, choose between visiting the famous abbeys, medieval cities, the long clean Mediterranean beaches, a trip to the Dali museum in nearby Spain or relax on one of the loungers around the enclosed swimming pool.
