Why is Quinta dos Vales so special?
Quinta dos Vales has a wide scope of attractions for the various different tastes. Here we have a unique vineyard which provides excellent quality wine for the connoisseur, art for the art lover and animals for those who like to see these wonderful creatures roaming happily in the fields.
The wine is very highly acclaimed and the white wine has won the silver medal award for the best white wine in the Algarve. This is an exciting achievement and just goes to show how much quality means to this Quinta. The rosé has also been very well received and has sold extremely well. The red is also very popular and just as the other two, has received very high acclaim by many connoisseurs. A champagne is to follow in early spring 2009 and promises to be amongst the best champagnes on the market. The key here is to work hard on perfecting the wine production as quality is definitely always better than quantity.
Sculpture:
Throughout the vineyard you will find various sculptures. These have been placed in various spots within the Quinta as well as in some dedicated areas. These sculptures are creations of Mr Karl Heinz Stock and are a fantastic talking point. They each offer something different to talk about and are part of the unique character and aura of the Quinta which anyone else would be hard pushed to replicate or even come close to. Descriptions for the sculptures range from whimsical to provocative and cute to serious. However, one thing they all have in common is they are all of a high standard and extremely interesting to look at and admire.
Then you have the animals. There are deer, llama, horses, sheep, pigs, kangaroo, chicken, turkey and goats. They are all part of the animal park which has been so lovingly put together in order that they all have as much space as they need to roam around without any interference from humans (except for being fed of course).

So, with all these things combined, Quinta dos Vales has something to offer that no other Quinta can. There is really something for everybody here and with the accommodation on offer and facilities within the Quinta, there is really no need to go anywhere else in the Algarve as once you are there, you have so much entertainment you will not want to leave. You can relax in the infinity pool whilst looking at the vines and sculptures; you can go in the sauna which is housed between the many different sculptures in the sculpture garden; you can play tennis in the fantastic tennis courts housed near the animal park; you can participate in wine tasting – The list of activities is extensive and all this in one location. This is a must see attraction as words and photos do not do it any justice.

The Algarve is one of Europe's premier golf areas. There are currently twenty-five courses in the space of 100 miles of coastline, with more under construction. All Algarve courses are within one and a half hours' drive of Faro International Airport. Over the last few years the Portuguese Open has been hosted variously at Penina, Vila Sol and São Lourenzo, all of which may be included in the list of top European championship courses.
