You can spend the most beautiful time of the year at the margins of the Cretan village Plaka, approx. 1.5 km from the beach, in a landscape untouched by mass tourism. You have a fantastic view upon the Souda Bay and upon the White Mountains (Lefka Ori). You will never forget the sunsets here. The 5000 m² large, lovely tended, natural estate invites you to relax. The seating and grilling corner, covered by vine will be your favourite place. Our new, large vacation house has 3 floors and 2 apartments. You can reach your 86 m² large, charming apartment upstairs through a outside staircase. The light living room (39 m²), with classy ambient has an open, modern kitchen. Open the large, glass sliding doors and enjoy your breakfast with view upon the sea. The apartment downstairs (74 m²) has a separate entrance, directly from the garden.

The apartment is on the first floor and it is accessible through a separate outside stair. There are 2 balconies, which offer a wonderful view upon the Mediterranean Sea, the Bay of Souda and the White Mountains.

Plaka is located in the western part of Crete, in the most traditional village of the island. It is located above from the small coast town, and it has a very healthy climate. The inhabitants of Plaka produce selected olive oil, wine and 'Tsikoudia', Cretan liquor. Plaka and the neighbouring villages are famous, as the Oscar nominated movie ‘Alexis Zorbas’ with Anthony Quinn was filmed here. In the village, you will find a few beautiful taverns, coffees and supermarkets. There is only 1 km to the sandy beaches of Almyrida. Within 5 km, you can reach the bigger town of Kalyves, where you can find a post office, a bank, and a large choice of shops.

Wir haben das erste Mal alles - sprich Flug-Auto-Unterkunft - übers Internet gebucht, und: alles hat hervorragend geklappt!!! Die Unterkunft - da können wir uns an die 1. Bewertung von September 2008 nur anschließen - einfach SPITZE! Sehr geräumiges Appartement - alles ausreichend vorhanden - traumhafter Blick aufs Meer, wunderschöne Pergola mit Grillplatz, 2 Liegen, Gartenmobilar mit 4 Stühlen und Garten mit Kräutern (da schmeckt das Essen noch besser!), zu Fuss 5 Minuten in den Ort, wo kl. Supermarkt, 3 Tavernern etc. vorhanden sind. Mit dem Auto 5 min. zum nächsten Strand. Überall nette Buchten und und und - am besten selber hinfahren - es lohnt sich! Wir haben es schon weiterempfohlen und werden bestimmt wieder kommen! Liebe Grüße an Sabrina und Thomas!!

Die Ferienwohnung entspricht voll der Beschreibung des Vermieters.
Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Besonders hervor zu heben ist, dass es sich um eine kleine angenehme Ferienanlage handelt, die weit vom Massentourismus neu gebaut wurde. Die Stille beeindruckt. Der Blick von Anhöhe auf die Bucht ist einfach herrlich. Auf dem Grundstück steht ein 3stöckiges Gebäude in moderner nicht landesüblicher Architektur. Die Zimmer sind zeitgemäß ausgestattet. Sie sind gepflegt, luxuriös, sauber und hell. Auch in der Gartenanlage kann man den Tag und den Abend sowohl in der Sonne als auch im Schatten wunderbar genießen. Auch bei großer Hitze weht auf der Anhöhe eine angenehme leichte Briese. Nachteilig fanden wir die noch nicht fertig gestellte direkte steile Zufahrt zur Anlage. Auch die Entfernungen zum alten verschlafenen Dorf und zum Badestrand sind relativ groß. Den Lebensmitteleinkauf sollte man daher gut planen. Es ist zu empfehlen, ein Auto zu mieten. Man braucht es sowieso, um die besondere historische Insel zu erobern. Wir verbrachten unseren Urlaub dort im Sommer 2008.
