St. Andrews has a wealth of historic monuments to visit. Wander around the University quadrangles and really feel the sense of history that envelops you. St. Andrews has built its name on golf and the town and surrounding area will not disappoint on courses for every level.
Once outwith St. Andrews head off to Crail via Kingsbarns and the scenery will enchant you. Visit Kingsbarns golf course, as a player or a walker you will find the surroundings breathtaking. Move on to the fishing villages of Crail, Anstruther, Pitenweem and discover the harbours, pottery and art exhibitions in these seaside towns. Carry on down the coast to Elie with its award winning sandy beaches and take time to draw breath in The Ship Inn beer garden down at the harbour.
Ideas for children locally would be golf, putting, swimming in the local pool, riding, watersports, cinema, bike riding, castle visit, Secret Bunker.
The upper floor is in the eaves of the roof and has 2 double bedrooms and a further bathroom with toilet and hand held shower over the bath. One bedroom is south facing with original beams and an original stone wall and the other one is smaller, north facing featuring one original stone wall. This room has restricted head height on one side of the bed due to the shape of the roof. Both rooms have velux windows.
Parking: There is car park right next to the building towards the West Port but you would need to buy a ticket. Alternatively at the entrance to St. Andrews there is a free car park which has a park and ride facility which is only a 10 minute walk away.
